Per ton it is probably the most dangerous thing a mech can pack.

60 tons is good for standard engine 5/8 or faster ones with XL engine... Theres plenty of them! In 3041, theres... Ermm, discounting the ones available to CommStar only,  basically just Grand Dragon, Merlin and Quickdraw?  :D

I think the Merlin doesn't exist yet in 3041 - it was a periphery design after the Clan invasion. Also, I need to adjust our Quickdraw, it's nuts that its more dangerous to attack its back (20 damage) then the front (18 damage)

I don't know how accurate Sarna.net is, but according to their website, The Merlin was being made in 3010 by a manufacturer with working facilities in the Outworld's Alliance.  Kind of difficult to follow, but its the tech wonder of the Periphery.

Maybe it was 65t then, now that I see that the rifleman is 60t. And I mostly played from 3030 to 3050, so not that advanced.

Ah, my bad, you and Erkki are correct. I remembered seeing it in the 3058 book and thought it appeared later.

Episode 16 – Tissue Paper for Armor
So, Jack’s Recon Lance is up for another probing engagement again. Once again going up against two lances of mostly vehicles, with two mechs in support.

Our ally is in a Locust…. LCT-1M…

Our ally is now configured to hide like a miserable coward. For those who don’t remember the Doghouse story, the 1-M variant of the Locust has tissue paper for armor, thus the title for this episode. It will literally suffer complete armor loss to any weapon in the game everywhere but the cockpit, and will suffer breaching damage when hit by a medium laser anywhere.

As before, we need to destroy two enemies to win, and we lose if two of our units are destroyed.

Spoiler: Salvage and Repairs (click to show/hide)

Quick and effective. And a pretty good haul, considering the circumstances. If all else fails we can sell the Pegasus' if we need the money.

We're pretty solid on cash, actually. We have 100% Battle Loss Compensation, which means we received the cost of the BattleMaster, Scorpion and Locust. We're actually sitting on around 20m C-Bills with no debt, as you can see from the Funds line in the MekHQ screenshots.

Not really. =\ For the next month, there's only three mechs up for sale - a Firestarter, another Phoenix Hawk, and a Shadow Hawk. Nothing really amazing for vehicles, especially since we can't deploy the ones we have due to lack of pilots. Three of our dependents are at 3XP each, so when they get to 5 I can direct them towards our vehicle crews, but until then we're at the mercy of the recruitment rolls.

If its the Kuritan Shadow Hawk with a PPC, you could consider it!

Sadly, it's the regular Shadow Hawk.

The SHD-2K variant is actually doing pretty well. Compared to our Griffin, it has no heat issues and only slightly worse damage potential. It did take Martin a while to grow into it, but that's what you get when you start as a Ultra-Green pilot.

Also, Konrad is 1 XP away from improving his gunnery, making his shooting skills even MORE ridiculous.

I might have posted this before, but if not, once we get steady access to Endo-Steel internals and Ferro-Fiberous armor, I want to upgrade his Jenner to this. If it ever dies, he'll probably end up in the Hunchback with the medium laser fetish or the UltimateKonrad from earlier in the thread.

If only cloning were a thing in BT, we could just replace our merc unit with a kompany of konrad klones, running around, shooting lasers at everything.
