Here is my first attempt. Feel free to laugh your ass off... I like it >_>

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Its so stupidly expensive! I really should have tried a cheaper design but I was working within the system. Pulse lasers have a lower BV then normal lasers but IMO their "True Battle value" goes up the less experienced the Pilot. So for greens, like my pilot, pulse lasers are essential.

I forgot the lighter the mech the less internals matter... and the heavier the mech the more internals matter. It is why I consider 75-ton and 100-ton mechs to be equals combat wise.

Also dang the exporter it didn't list where ALL the internals are... >_<

I like it, personally. It's good for charging around shredding lighter mechs under endless waves of pulse laser fire. And since it can jump, good initative allows it to keep jumping behind bigger mechs and giving them spider hugs. With lasers.

It can also take a hit, luckily enough.

I used Pulse instead of normal lasers due to the skill level of the Pilot. If my character was an Ace they would be a luxury. Since he is a green, this essentially doubles his effectiveness.

It bleeds off almost all its heat if it fires everything without moving (The small laser puts it over)

The small laser is just there to eat up a critical slot

I actually looked up Quad Mechs and APPERANTLY in 3040 there was a critical flaw in quads that kept them from use and they really were decried as terrible. In 3060 they fixed the issue and apparently in spite what media would make you believe, Quad mechs end up being the most used if Sarna is to be believed.

Also fine it shall be called the "SpiderKiss"

Shouldn't 7 Med Pulse produce 28 heat? So it should be able to jump and fire.

Your right O_O... I didn't realize it actually calculates my mech using all the heat possible (I am used to it not calculating movement into it)

So yeah... it can Jet 4 tiles every turn and fire everything... every turn. excluding the small laser used to waste a slot.

I wonder if I should lose a heat sink and give it another Jet so it can move 5 a turn and possible hit the next level of "Hard to hit"

Well... if I remove a heat sink and add a jump jet... I get 3 overheat. Yet the mech is +1 harder to hit if it does its full Jet movement.

I'll leave it up to you Hanzoku. I don't know what you value more.

Nevermind! there is more I can do to get that extra stuff! :P

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Incase you need a side by side

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

There two variants. The only difference is I used a XL-Gyro to lighten it just enough to fit an extra jump jet AND a heat sink.

I really won't call it that expensive for a 60 pound mech with its capabilities.  And the components are such that it won't need to refitted once we have more money and want to uptech our mechs.

Only downside is the lack of availability of pulse lasers on some mission types.  I would heartily suggest a stockpile of medium pulse lasers be purchased with the mech, as once weapons are shot out and the stockpile runs dry, the mech will need to be held out of action until refit or contract end.

Although, in some campaigns I can say the same thing about standard medium lasers.

...the Quad I designed is still clearly better.  Why no comments on my obvious perfection?

It is a quad?

Also ER Small lasers? :P

Also should quads even use lasers in their feet? I can store it in the torso (Somehow >_<)

I told it to use Gyros but I don't see it in my internal layout. I guess maybe it is an advantage to Quads is that they don't have visable Gyros.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This just moves the pulse lasers from legs to torso... I don't know how front legs work with Quads >_> I've never stored weapons in them before. So JIC

Torso is better anyway, so you can fire over height 1 houses and hills.

What is funny is the way I designed this mech... I think the fact that it is a Quad is kind of wasted :P

Do they have anything other than more stability going for them?

They can run sideways and backwards... and their body can double torso twist.

My Goliath can't twist at all. :(
It is a rather useless Mech anyway, I'll probably replace it.

Mind you I might be wrong about the torso twist. It MIGHT be the turret rule, but maybe in the most recent edition they made quads "always" have the equivalent of turrets.

Also Quads don't use internals for Gyros and cannot take Gyro hits. They have more armor then a normal mech, and they can lose a leg and aren't strongly affected by it.

My Quad desperately needs the quad turret that doesn't exist because it is experimental.

Ok here they all are

SpidersKiss-1a
Note: The first attempt at the mech

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

SpidersKiss-1b
Note: Added XL Gyro, removed a small laser, added a Jump jet and a heat sink.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

SpidersKiss-2b
Note: moved Torso Pulse lasers from legs to torso

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

SpidersKiss-EX1
Note: Experimental Quad, uses "Quad Turrets" and moved Lasers into turret slots.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

SpidersKiss-EX1b
Note: Just moved critical spots around. Instead of super loading up the turrets I kept them more or less the same.

Yup, that is why I put the machine gun and ammo for my design in the leg.  Machine Guns are famous for only doing decent damage when their ammo supply gets hit.
