Santoku was awoken by Galen's scream, and propped himself up, looking around in the near darkness. "Hm? One of the girls just screamed. What's going on?"

After her shift on night watch, Lizbet slept with as much of her armor on as was reasonable, given they were still in hostile ground.  The sound of a high-pitched shriek from the southeast - Lian? Vera? - pierced the darkness, rousing her immediately, and she saw shadows moving towards her and the mounts.  Even as she donned her breastplate, she shouted, loud enough to be heard over the opening sounds of battle to her south.

"'Ware the enemy!  Revenants!"

Mount, move to (8,6)

Iolani stirred sleepily from where she'd been curled up next to Santoku.

"Hmmm? What happened?"

Santoku sleepily reached for his blade, dragging it toward him. "Hell if I know. I just heard one of the women scream. Should probably check it out, might be under attack." Santoku shifted away his coat, which the two had been using as a blanket. "You coming, or should I check to see if it was just something dumb?"

Iolani fumbled around for her tomes before standing and stretching.

"Better.... *yawn* better come along just in case someone got themselves into trouble."

Lian quickly bolted upright, within moments she slid on her armor and kicked up her lance into her hands. With a couple moments more of glancing around, she could at least identify her enemy in the east.
: "Well, I suppose it isn't bandits after all... Niccola, Vera, we're under attack!"

At seeing Galen continue to cower Cyrus raised his voice to yell at him.

"Oi, Galen, do you want to join these jokers!? Because if you don't I'd get a move on before they decide for you!"

"What is it... Vera says as she gets to her feet. And then she sees the monsters. "...The Skyfather sees fit to test us further, it seems." she says, picking up her staff and crossbow, and mounting her horse- while the horse was slowed as she was, it was still the same rough speed in the sand, and would be faster if she came indoors.
