Odysios coughed, taking the shovel from Vera.
"Not that I wish to interrupt your burial preparations, but we haven't been paid in full, and your friend Sobriel is dead. I'm gonna go with you but I expect to be paid well in the end. Besides, where are we headed?" Titon rubbed his chin.
"We could go east, toward the Fortress of Carn. Tablan, an old friend of mine and Asmal, has control over most of the eastern border. I could visit him and ask for assistance..."
"Carn is far away from here, and we would be crossing several badlands and deserts on the way there." "I know. That's why I'm also considering west." "Temple Lands, huh?" "Or Kozanthikon itself. They've always been a loyal ally to the throne, and never they had allied themselves with any usurper or rebel in previous centuries..."
