~~Chapter 5x Complete!~~

Just moments later, the first sunrays came shining from above the ruined walls.

"The heck were those things!?"

"What, you never heard of Revenants?"

"Noo!?"

"Sire, these walking corpses sometimes rise due to magic interference... I think? My uncle battled them once..."

"In Kozanthikon there are mountains and forests and swamps so dark and remote that they say dead walk there. Sometimes a particularily wicked magician can disturb the dead, too. I had few encounters with the walking dead, but they did not appear in such numbers.."

"In my homeland," Gwyn slung his bow over his shoulder, "We bury our dead in hollowed-out hills, covered by stones. There the dead can rest, unless their spirits rise due to the deceased's anguish or wrath. But this is first time I saw a rotting corpse walk."

"Bah! The last thing I need on my mind is fairytale creatures! We're moving out immediatelly."

"But Prince, the day is coming-"

"No excuses! I'm not staying a moment longer in this accursed ruin. Vera! Patch everyone's wounds, and then we're moving out!"

Lian propped herself up from the ground with her lance, sighing irritably.
: "So now I must add undead revenants to my repertoire of threats to account for in selecting a campground. How delightful."

"Not sure what he's complaining about. Those guys weren't tough at all." Santoku returned to the room where he and Iolani had been sleeping and retrieved his jacket.

"Well, that's me ready."

Galen looks blankly at the cloud of dust that was the closest spirit, then at everyone else, and falls silently onto his face in a dead faint.

"Can't say I've fought the likes of those before. Vile creatures. Shame we've not got enough time or material to burn the remains."

He looked at the fainted mage and sighed.
"Hmmph. Fainting like a little girl."
Chalco hoisted up Galen and slung him over the back of the wyvern like saddlebags.

"I'm ready to move, Prince."

"PAH! They hit LIKE STICKS." Titus grunted and rolled his shoulder with a pop, his wounds knitting themselves together until Vera topped him off. "Thanks, love. 'PPRECIATE it."

Titus yanked his axe out of the husk's body with a crack and rested it on his shoulder. "WELP! I'm READY! WE forgettin' anything CYRUS?"

And then they departed.

~~Chapter 6: Imperial Border~~

By the morning of the day after fleeing the haunted ruin, Prince Titon and his companions, a mix of high-born servants and random mercenaries, commoners and tag-along wanderers, have finally stepped outside the sandy desert. But that didn't mean they were safe nor comfortable; there was naught an inn or settlement to hide or rest at, and the spies of the Usurper could be very well perched at the mountaintops, seeking Prince Titon...

The group marched through the rugged terrain, the sand of the desert finally giving in to stones and dried dirt. A sparse tree or spiky bush were all the vegetation of this unpleasant land.

With Chalco and Lizbet in front acting as scouts, they were preparing to finally step into shadow of the mountains; from there, as Prince Titon explained, they would be less than half a day (or less, if they kept the pace) away from the Fortress of Carn, a large and thick defensive structure built at the edge of the Empire, hosting a large garrison of brave men and women, that kept watch over the Kadesh Pass, the only valley leading into Pahravanit territory...

Then, Lizbet and Chalco, being above the ground and all, could see some dust cloud in the hills to the east. It seemed too small and too far from a desert to be a sandstorm, however.

But, suddenly, there was a freak gust of sand blowing from the west, startling horses and getting into peoples' eyes. The sand settled down quite fast - and Prince's group was no longer alone.

"Oh for the love of-"

"I don't leave tasks unfinished, Prince. Now, die."

~~Player Turn 1~~

Santoku looked around at the enemies that now surrounded the group. An interesting trick, getting around them under the guise of a sandstorm. But a trick, and nothing more. "So, you're after the prince, are ya? Well before you die, let me tell you what you're up against." With a great (and clearly practiced) flourish, Santoku removed his coat from his body in one swift motion, leaving him naked from the waist up.

"The golden swordsman with the silver sword and the azure hair! The mightiest fighter to ever walk this earth, beyond the reach of God and Man alike! The one who tolerates no evil, and cleaves it in twain whenever it is misfortunate enough to fall beneath his boundless sight! That's me, Santoku Nake. I shall give you a single chance to throw down your weapons and leave this place."
