Cyrus' plan was to get Santoku closer without Cyrus having to be the one to approach and it was working fine. His muscles tensed as Santoku drew closer, waiting for just the right moment to strike. He lunged at Santoku at what he estimated was just outside the man's arm length, aiming for Santoku's torso.

Cyrus slammed into Santoku, but the swordsman wasn't going to go down easy. Sand piled behind his feet as Cyrus's attack forced him backward. After coming to a full stop, Santoku backpedaled a few paces, then lurched to his right, trying to throw Cyrus off.

Cyrus struggled to find his grip and get enough leverage to lift Santoku like he originally planned due to Santoku backpedaling. When the swordsman lurched to his right Cyrus knew he was in trouble but managed to keep enough of his grip on him so that if he went down so did Santoku.

With Cyrus unwilling to let go, Santoku kept up the turn to build a little momentum before dropping to one knee, forcing the pair to the ground. His idea was to keep Cyrus off balance long enough that he could get on top in their transition to the ground. Of course, nothing was certain in the ring...

Or rather, on the sand.

If it was Santoku's intention to bring them down and then stop, Cyrus was having none of it. Knowing that going down on Santoku's terms would be anything but good, he tried to use what little leverage he had left to pull Santoku to the ground off to his side where he could then try to pin him.

Cyrus could obviously tell what Santoku was trying to do, and it showed, as Santoku was forced out of a position where he could get a pin on the other man. Unwilling to give up his momentary advantage, Santoku managed to get one foot behind himself and push Cyrus back, trying to roll the other man onto his back to secure the pin.

Santoku was putting up a better fight than Cyrus expected and it greatly pleased him. Wrestling with vengeful peasants had been fun back in the day but they were much to easy beat when all they did was run straight at you. He let Santoku get him onto his back with enough resistance to hopefully not make the other man suspicious. As soon as Santoku would go in for the pin however; Cyrus would do everything in his power to try to headbutt Santoku right in the ole noggin.

Santoku went for the pin, and sure enough, Cyrus connected his skull with Santoku's face. Something, to be perfectly honest, Santoku had not been expecting. His mouth filled with the taste of tin, and for a split second, his vision dimmed and his ears rang. Santoku then retaliated the only way he knew how. A headbutt in return, slamming the top of his head into Cyrus's face.

Alice sat on the sidelines, her eyes fixed on the two fighting watching them carefully as they brawled.

LATER ON...

The party had drank their fill and filled their drinking bags with fresh water from the well. Then, as the night was coming soon, everyone found a good spot for themselves (and their mounts) to rest. Everyone had plenty of ruined rooms to sleep at, but everyone was close nearby each other in cause trouble would arise.

And the trouble had 'arisen' in the very early morning, when the sky was grey.

Galen stirred; his sleep wasn't pleasant nor restful, as something seems to have constantly pricked into the side of his subcounscious. As he woke up, disturbed, he could see a strange sight; a trio of thin people staring at him, obscured by the shadow of the ruined building.

Only as they stepped forward in a slow shamble, did he see that these are walking, dried corpses of  ancient peoples!

These ruins are haunted! Did the previous owners of the ruins knew about this? Who knows.

Objectives for Galen: Be a hero and scream in terror alert everyone at once!

//Just assume that Galen was a hero and woke everyone up.

And it was very effective in waking the others... and having the corpses shuffle after Galen!

Titus was snoring heavily, cradled up next to the empty treasure chest with his arms wrapped around the empty shell of wood and rivets and mumbling something about owning everything. The shrill cry of Galen woke him with a start and he clambered to his feet, axe in hand.

"WHO, WHA--Galen?" The large man looked outside to see several figures, the corpulent mountain rubbing the sleep from his eyes. The mage seemed to have his back up against a wall with several figures trying to block his way.

There was several thudding stomps of steps as Titus charged forth into the sand, snagging the hatchet from Cyrus and hurling it at one of the... Shriveled people?

"GALEN! WHAT DID WE SAY ABOUT YOUR ESCAPADES?!"

Titus moves to [9,15], takes Hatchet from Cyrus, and attacks Dry Husk E with said Hatchet

---Past---
Upon seeing the three figures, Galen stopped dead for fifteen seconds... and then let out a piercing, exceptionally high scream.

---Present---
Galen cowered against the wall, too scared to move for the moment.
