Unlikely, the current Regent of Ascalon is the Duke of Falconreach. 
The realm, despite being a monarchy has been having trouble keeping Royals around.

Btw, Kort of Tor Kortaur and I are working on a deal to merge some Lowlands and Armok areas into one huge Duchy within the Children (I'm talking a region of about 50 settlements). We need a name and Kort has suggested that it's most appropriate that the name come from DF lore rather than Lowlands terminology (Tors etc).

I made the Duchy of Cattenwald after the tale Catten And The Eagle, since this is a heavily forested area. But this can either be a county or the entire area. Any ideas on good names we can use? We need more than one name because we're creating this as subrealms in both Lowlands and Armok, then merging them together.

Ascalon doesn't hate Idraei per se. Idraei used to be an Ascalonian province at one point and then they decided to split off. Later most of Idraei slumbered and Ascalon started reclaiming it's lands. That's when Halfhaven declared himself a bastard child of the last Idraei king and tried to keep some Idraei land for himself. He wasn't successful and fled west.

In other news, one of my characters has just killed the king of Ascalon in a border skirmish. Shit is going to hit the fan SO HARD.

Quick ctrl+f of the two main topics I'm privy to, Royal Courts, don't really say a damn thing other then...  I think they left us?  I dunno.

The Regent just died.  That was a short reign.  (I was in that battle.)

EDIT: I spent most of my time in Ascalon being idle and managing my 2 swamps.

BTW is there any better way to set up long-distance trade other than to have to have the province owner literally march for 1 month across the map to the recipient?

The possible inefficiency of that sort of trade makes me cringe.
