My father is expecting me to go down the road and meet him at some lame town market that's happening today.
I would... really rather not. Normal crowds are bad enough, this is going to be a weird country town crowd which will probably be jam-packed with old people trying to talk to me about turnips or w/e. *sigh* I guess I'd better go. The sooner I put in an appearance, the sooner I can skulk off back here.


Edit: Ugh, is personal space really a new-fangled 'city-slicker' concept or something? It sure feels like it.

So I happened to end up with windows 10 on my computer now. I followed the rock-paper-shotgun articles' instructions to disable its spyware, but I'm not convinced. Suppose I never will be.

Well, time to finish packing and get some sleep. I need to get up at about 3 AM tomorrow (4 AM in DST), to go catch the early train.
All going well I will be back home in Melbourne in two days' time, after about a month away. I am quite eager to finally be able to relax.
Wish me luck! Seriously, I don't want anything somehow going wrong and getting me stuck here longer as well as losing me my paid-for ticket.

It's a strange, tense feeling when something is said that makes it clear that a long-standing friendship might have to be ended in the near future. I don't even particularly value this friendship, honestly, but if things go badly it will probably be a whole bunch of friends and acquaintances cut out of my life, and possibly turned against me.

Feels like I'm stockpiling metaphorical petrol to burn the heck out of a large, sturdy-yet-metaphorical bridge.
The bridge to the last few years of my life, basically. On the one hand that feels kind of terrifying simply for how big a change it would be, on the other hand it's exciting, like finally getting a tumour removed after having it eating away at you for far too long. We'll see what happens.

Going to my first festival tomorrow. I'm not even that enthusiastic about the music, I was sort of talked into it - and it's shaping up to be just a couple days spent wasted and/or high for much of the group.

I haven't been to any of those kind of festivals (or "doofs" as they are usually called in the local vernacular), but there's no such thing as an age restriction as far as I'm aware. Certainly not at any similar events I've been to. Have fun!    

I wouldn't mind going to one of those myself, despite not having much of an interest in electronic music.
Perhaps if my friends ever actually get around to attending one I'll tag along.
