Significant other is at her other home with her kids and is very ill. I'm sick too (haven't really left the bed in two days). Trying not to think of what could happen, and the myriad and sundry ways that would wreck me.

Huh? Are you wrecking your head about a couple of flu cases, or is it more serious?

Tomorrow I am due to begin chauffeur training.

I don't feel the slightest bit ready for this.

I have a train trip at ten past two in the afternoon today. I intend to be there very early to ensure things go smoothly.
Unfortunately I have an irritatingly large and unwieldy amount of luggage, which has swollen in size over the course of my trip (I am currently gallivanting around two states visiting family and such, which isn't really what I would call gallivanting at all, I just felt like using the word) and shall need to be somehow packed and lugged up the road over a hundred meters to the train station.

And there is no-one available to give me a lift, and it seems unlikely that my brother will even end up helping me carry this shit as he as things to do this morning and I plan on being really early. Now I need to somehow move my bags out into this room and pack without waking up sleeping people...

I have my Ph.D. dissertation defense scheduled for two weeks from today.  I'm supposed to give my committee members a copy of my dissertation two weeks from the defense date so they can read it.  Ergo, I'm supposed to send it to them today.

I discovered a major problem with my dissertation today, which also invalidates a paper we submitted recently.

I didn't fix it yet.  I'm not going to be able to fix it today.  I hope it can be fixed, because I'm really not sure.

I sure hope the two week thing was a suggestion and not a rule.

I hate graduate school, and by now I hate research.

But most of all?  I hate anxiety.

Likewise with Telgin, but I'm an undergrad.

And I have been burnt out for god knows how long in terms of writing papers.

And I have been anxious the entire week. Life's a living nightmare.

I have slathered my exposed bits in sunscreen in preparation for spending the afternoon outside.
Hopefully I don't end up spending the week languishing in horrible, lobster-red agony... again.

A male human obviously intimidated by me pulled a knife (i assume) out of his pocket and into his hoodie sleeve and nervously continued walking towards me, nothing happened because I am quietly confident of my combat ability
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
so that was a weird situation. Im the kind of entity that people cross the road at night to avoid.

One quick question: Why do you specify that it was a male human? As far as I know they don't allow cats to carry knives...
