Whoa.

Whenever you least expect it, this game shows you a little bit more depth.  I look at my countess for kicks, and find out that she's ecstatic- despite having suffered a miscarriage.  Wow.

Actually, she can't remember the last time she had one.  A drink that is, not a child.  There's kind of a booze crisis.

Ah, then that's it.
She's suffering from withdrawal, and the related hallucinations make her believe her dear child is still alive.

What, she threw herself down the stairs deliberately hoping to do enough damage?

Anyway, I wasn't really interested in her mood so much as the fact that such a thing is actually factored into the game.  That's what wowed me.

Yeah, for kicks I looked at the baron consort as she was about to be killed by a dozen goblins.  She was miserable, because (a) she had lost a spouse recently, (b) she had miscarried recently, (c) she had suffered major injuries recently.

The miscarriage was news to me.
