I publicly call for the kingdom to pray for its ruler and I spend my free time this season praying for him. Let the gods be merciful.

Tell news about king to common people and nobles, To make andess to show seriousness of king wellbeing is

"The king have fallen unto deep sleep, I ask of you to help to kingdom in most dire visitation"

"You the mechant please to fix this kingdom wrecked wealth"

"You the Farmer and other such like people please farm more than yourself but for this kingdom"

"You the Craftmen and Other Skilled worker please work harder and make better things"

"Kingdom build by all men and Not just king and his advisory staff but you, The people"

"Now we work for the kingdom"

No but seriously, you just told them the king is deathly ill.  They REALLY aren't going to listen to anything else afterwards.
Or do anything but panic/flee, really.

What.
I seriously have no clue what you just said.
E:Ohhhh. That was the GM's name.  You really need to invest in some form of spell checker either way, though.

Look, it's either panic, or plotting the next coup.
These are probable reactions.
That or complete indifference because local nobles, but said local nobles are going to be busy plotting, methinks.

((In the absence of painfruit, the players must look to less than ideal solutions, such as those put forth by Nosaneinme's character.  Truly, since the death of the kingdom's beloved sage, a dark age has fallen over the land.))

((There's still painfruit! And its more horrible then ever, being used in dark rituals by a knight of evil!))

Loot the box of "jewelry" I brought with me from Undermoon for rings of obedience. Have Zechtenmarkus pass them out to his agricultural mages to insure they don't desert when we most need them to fix the economy.

Oh. I thought that the game would continue with someone else being the king's successor (not necessarily the PCs; the king probably has a son or something).

Lock the king in his room with his most capable physicians, and do not allow visitors. Give the physicians whatever they need.
"Sir, he's suffering from alcohol-poisoning. If there's anyone that can fix him, it's me."

Save the king! Notice suspicious behavior among the Agricultural mages.

((Clearly our next order of business is pimping him out so we have an heir))

Try and hire slaves volunteer labour from nearby settlements, such as goblins running a child resettlement program, or humans captured in battle and trying to escape the woes of unemployment. Put these to work on agriculture.
