Sera was born in space, and has been in space for almost all of her 29 years. She doesn't know what being on the ground really feels like. Her parents were both officers in the [Space equivalent of the navy], and she intended- and has- followed in their footsteps.
Sera is not the strictest of officers, letting those directly under her get away with a bit. She's noticeably stricter in conduct and orders when the situation is serious, or a higher ranking officer is around.

Description: Weapons Officers are chosen for their spatial awareness and computer skills than their eyesight and reaction time. A human's processing ability simply cannot keep up in combat due to the distances and speeds that it takes place at. As such Weapons Officers must instead coach targeting systems to get the most out of them, counter enemy evasion algorithms and focus fire on sensitive systems to end combat as soon as possible. After completing two tours of duty as a Fire Controller, Van has been recently promoted to Lieutenant to act as the USS Excellence's Weapons Officer. Despite being 33 he has a worryingly thin build and soft face that makes him look younger. The fact that he is clean shaven and wears his hair long doesn't help matters, nor does the heavy bags underneath his eyes. Thankfully he is more competent at his job than his appearance and mannerisms would suggest, otherwise he would have never risen through the ranks as quickly as he has.

Description: Male, 27. Honoré Tremble was from a backwater world to put backwater worlds, a planet that had regressed to literally medieval conditions, and he was an expert archer. Another ship, the USS Undauntable ended up landing on this planet, and through a touching series of events Honoré ended up joining the crew. As the months went on, Honoré started to become versed in sensor operation due to his sharp eye and some patient teaching, and he ended up a full on Sensor Operator! And then soon after, a horrific fire totaled the ship while it was docked and the crew was systematically shuffled out to other ships. While Starfleet was rather confused what to do with him they eventually just gave up and tossed him onto the Excellence's sensor position. Also, he doesn't even carry a standard-issue phaser, he carries a full-on shortbow instead, although the effect is basically the same in an era where everyone just wears shirts.

and then he'll quiet himself and change the topic. Cole is generally quiet though, unless someone with similar interests is with him, and even then he'll be fairly silent. He loves food though, which is strange due to his thin figure. He isn't particularly strong, but is muscularly thick enough to handle himself in situations requiring strength.

Description: Entered the academy a little later in life after earning a civilian mechanical engineering degree, Dan is now 35 and knows quite a lot about fixing up ships. He never goes anywhere without his can of aerosol lubricant, his roll of heavy-duty adhesive material, and a handheld plasma cutter.
