I'm presuming this is prelaunch or pre update as a response to spfifle.
Oliva regards the venutian before her plainly, as she does with all nearly all things (persons included), without thought or sound beyond her voice, the impression is cold, clinical, but not chilling handshake,
"I am, It's a pleasure to meet you Medic Corvos. I read your xenobiological research paper. Your use of an r squared gamma distribution to plot morphological mutations was an interesting approach and surprisingly adaptable even and especially at a P level of > .01 in most cases. The obvious radiological influences proved surprisingly resistant to genealogical heredity on the toxicological resistances, leading to further morphologic complications and mortality rate. I found your method of control group isolation innovative, and useful for cross comparative study, but the follow up questions dictate more research to prove the ultimate question of your abstract statement in the research. Though I suppose you won't be publishing another paper on that until and unless we return from this mission by means of sheer absence, if nothing else. Let's hope any xenobiology you publish from this, will be fairly benign.
As for current duties, we're all medically on call at any time for whatever injuries may befall the crew, primary order and all of course. Other than that, I do have some research projects, though I suspect you have your own. Feel free to work on them as you like within reason. We might be able to review and perhaps collaborate on certain matters, but at present let's settle in.
Medically I imagine certain injuries may occur in the field. If and when they do, bring them back here and I'll operate or treat as needed. Do no harm; keep them alive and they'll keep us alive, etc."
With that, Dr. Corval will ready the medical bay for takeoff, and any other tasks as needed.
