Huh, Natalia's level up bonuses look pretty sweet, I think it would be good to stick with her. I like the extra bonus to construction and production!
As for the cargo bay, hopefully it'll hold a turn as I want to seal all the dug domes ASAP so we can transfer the systems at risk for collapse to the caverns. To that end I say we use the parts to finish the meatvats.

Question: how finished is the vehicle dome? I was always thinking of moving the damage control machinery to the vehicle dome and using that to also repair vehicles.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

It is a large cavern open to the atmosphere, it then leads deeper to the start of the ramps down, but it is fully dug out.

Alright then, we can work on starting to seal the caverns then. Also, you missed the banded iron research progress, unless extracting iron from it was all we can do.

This?

* investigating Banded Iron (29+10+10=49) slow progress

Several different standard systems for efficiently taking apart shale elements are attempted by the machine, they all fail, but give some insight into how the material is not constructed..

+5 ongoing research

Ohhh, Idea! Given Kara's volcanic nature, I'm assuming we're filtering lots of sulfur out of the water right? we can make fast curing sulfur concrete to not only seal the caverns but build the hydroelectric facility!

I offer to switch to Morgan. +5 to all actions and + to morale looks good for everything. Mining +20 is minor but still usefull

I prefer Natalia's ongoing bonuses to engineering(she now gets a +10 to other engineering actions in addition to the first +20!). Plus, that construction bonus is actually pretty damn useful in negating the penalty from New World, and the ability to throw more manpower at an action for +5 bonus is actually useful-especially if it was available this turn. Instead of simply a +4 bonus to research, we can add 4 +5s to not only the research but to 4 other actions this turn. Yeah, the 10% hit to manpower hurts, but when we get the meatvats up we can possibly afford to wake up more crew to compensate. Don't get me wrong, that +5 generic bonus across the board is pretty nice with Morgan, but Natalia's more focused bonuses work better.

There's another problem though. The collapse is not limited too the main cargo bay. We would loose a lot of the ship's systems if there's a failure.

Quote
The central support spines of the ship were ruptured in the landing and both the multipurpose bay and part of life support and the cryo tubes are at risk of falling down a story or two when it goes.

That's why I'm having the maintenance guys prop it up for now while we seal the caverns, so we can move the affected systems out of the ship.

Edit:Or we can build a concrete buttress using sulfur concrete. The chemistry to make proper stable sulfur concrete is a bit more complex than simply melting the sulfur and mixing it with aggregate-it will eventually turn brittle and break without stabilizing it- but we don't need to figure out how to extract calcium from the shale rocks we have to use it.

In fact:

* Multi-Chemical Production Facility (choose 1)
[no manpower] Break down and/or produce chemicals.  Production and energy needed varies.  Basic chemical content will be reported on as well:Filter out, purify, and capture, any sulfur from the water, then mix with an additive to stabilize it for use in concrete.
[no manpower] Purify and mix air or water, does not produce new oxygen or water.
Output depends on how much work is needed to purify, high quantities of sewage or industrial waste water would be considerably slower.  For these purposes this facility would handle grey water while the existing ship systems would handle more difficult waste water.  Two such facilities should be good at least for the current population for water.
[4/4 manpower] Chemical and material science research slot at +0 (or +10):

I can agree with your scheme on but a few points.

An excessive fixation on vehicles (which, for the near future, we won't really use), and relying a bit too much on conversion, which really means we're wasting a lot of opportunity. We still need to get up a waste processing unit, reinforce our factory dome, and ideally get those new robots online.

If you can put up your own proposal, maybe we can work out a compromise.

Okay, alternative proposal.

Luckily, next turn we can finally change our focus card. I have come to dislike the Brave New World one. The construction penalty is extremely strong, while the benefits are in effect , quite neglible.

I support Ebbor plan.

Also, I also vote on keeping Natalia. The +5 for extra manpower is too good.

Huh, I actually do like your plan better 10ebbor. It does everything I was going for, but better, and more!
