Well, then like every other game of this, lets use it to develop a VR CAD program that we can use.

I suggested building a secondary comp and console for engineering instead so we don't hog the VR, if you'd read my turn suggestion.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Yah, but that aint VR.

I don;'t think mechanics wise an engineering console and VR have any differences. Past games never gave bonuses to VR CAD after all, and I'm not sure Void will change that.

Some Clarification?

A VR CAD would function as an engineering action, 2 maybe 4 people I'll have to look it over, no bonus though.  Without any engineering slots it would be a manpower action, lots of people and -30 base.

Would that be any different to a computer and engineering console?

Flight Phase 2081-2085

+1 Advanced parts +1 Air +1 Water

Moral [24+20-8] Minor Failure -1 ongoing
Engineering [33+8] Minor Failure -5 to next roll

VR CAD [89] Success

Some additional supplies are loaded in and a small farewell party is thrown.  A picture of the crews of all three outposts is taken and framed.

The launch goes without issues and the first few months seem exciting, but the routine starts to wear despite attempts to liven up the atmosphere.  The cramped quarters are proving a strain as well, despite the entertainment center personal space is at a premium.

Everything seems to be going well with the ship.  So well that some routine maintenance checks are overlooked.  The autopilot should be able to catch it though... right?

The crew set up a design program for the VR system, a more powerful system is needed to supplement the VR computer designed for simple entertainment and several goggle headsets are built to allow use of the VR pod for recreational use.

-.1 basic parts -.1 advanced parts

4 crew required for engineering work during flight.  Or 2 crew, but lose -5 moral from Recreational commons.

Orders for 2086-2090

Use VR pod for design work instead of recreation?

Engineering or other orders?

Also you can not expert test systems.  The systems used to do that were several hundreds of computers much more complex then the colony computer, aided by thousands of engineers and developers to actually build the simulations.  The fusion core research was basically the last great achievement of a golden age of technology.

A single VR pod lets you use 2 people, instead of 4 with the VR headsets, if you set up multiple VR pods with a real expert system computer it might have a bonus.  The Colony computer can act as an engineer action at +20 with 2 manpower, for example.

Well you could probably expert test smaller, simpler systems, but you would totally need the colony computer at a minimum.

Well, we're about to broach the first planned shutdown for extended maintenance(I did recommend we do that every 5 years). As for engineering, How about we start planning the colony? Just a basic outline for both an underground base and/or one built using domes and above-ground structures. Have the engineering team work out options for both that can be adjusted for local topography and geology once we reach planetfall. Also, put plenty of people on it so we don't loose that morale bonus from the Rec room.

Assume the planned shutdowns occur on plan, I'll say if anything actually comes up.

Great, so I am working odd hours right now for about a week.  I'll try and update when I get a chance, just expect updates to be slow.
