Assault on Anghor
« on: October 07, 2015, 09:49:56 pm »

"Alright marines, listen up!" you hear the tall, mustached man in the front of the room. "As many of you know from yesterday's news, the populace of the planet of Anghor have chosen to side with the Confederation. Our objective is to strike them hard and fast, before their military can get bunker-ed up. The drop time is right now. We expect light resistance purely based off of the surprise of a quick attack. Planning is built into each one of your headsets. These guys aren't ready for a full-out-assault, but they do have trained soldiers. We must execute this invasion well. We'll be using a lot of new, prototype equipment for this. We've gotta test out some of this new stuff from research before we use it on the Confederation, so command has deemed now as the best time. Your NCO's have instructions on how to use the drop pods. To your stations, now."

You go to your squad's staging area and equip yourself in the latest prototypes of body armor, assault rifle, pistol, first aid equipment, and grenades available to the Terran Republic. You get into the drop pod with your squad of four, and hold on tight.

//Four players at a time. Game will be absolutely vicious, so the reserve list is gonna have to be big. Just post 'in' to get into the reserve list.

//Sorry it took so long for the first update guys, had some stuff to take care of!

Each one of you sits in your separate pods waiting for the drop to commence. The PA system is blasting, but adrenaline keeps what it's saying out of your head. Your comrades in your separate pods do their pre-drop rituals; praying, playing rock, paper, scissors, or just talking. That is, until you hear a "3, 2, 1..." and each of your drop pods are shot out of the orbital infantry carrier with extreme force.

Frostebyte:
You hold on as tight as you possibly can as the drop pod hurtles toward the ground. A rookie in your pod screams his head off all the way down. His name's Ryan, this is his first drop. You're 99% sure the kid lied about his age to get in. The pod slams into the dirt, and the doors fly open. You've landed right on target: in a park in the middle of a large urban center. Your NCO grabs Ryan and throws him out of the pod, and orders your squad to get a perimeter. Other pods fall and open all around you in the park. Civilians run away. Cars crash, and speed away as fast as they can. Some put their hands up and stay put.

Xvareon:
You land in the same place that Frostebyte lands. Your squad is filled with veterans from an assault on Hossin, and each one of them can be relied on to protect your ass. They set up a perimeter without needing orders, and your NCO orders you to follow him as you move toward the objective.

Kevak:
Your pod begins the descent just fine, but is rocked with a massive jolt in mid-drop. You hear a scream but can't tell what happened, as you slam into the earth just seconds later. The pod doors fly open, and you fall out onto the ground, alongside a fellow rifleman. The other enlisted man in your squad looks into the pod and yells out that your NCO was hit with shrapnel. You don't seem to be anywhere near the target drop point.

AkumaKasai:
Your pod lands directly on its target: a clearing in a forest just outside of a large military installation. The clearing is filling up with pods as hundreds of infantrymen are dropped in to assist in the assault. Your commander orders you to get marching, but just then an explosions rocks the clearing. Then another. Then another. Pods explode and screams echo through the forest. You faintly hear your NCO shouting into the radio, "The drop point is getting hit hard! We need that fucking artillery wiped out!"

Nunzillor:
You sit in your pod, awaiting the drop into the urban center. Your squad is to be dropped on the top of a skyscraper to disable radio jammers on the rooftops. Just as you're about to land, the pod smashes into something and the doors fly open. A metal rod stabs through the pod walls and holds it up. You look straight down, and you are being held about 300 stories above ground level by a metal rod. The pod creaks and slightly falls down the rod, and a team member screams and falls out. Your NCO just barely grabs him by the arm, and keeps him from falling all the way down.

Hawk132:
You are a part of a detachment of special forces infantry that are tasked with extracting three HVTs from the urban center being used as a beachhead. Your pod smashes through the roof of the city hall, and the doors fly open. There are screams and shouts all about as you burst into a city board meeting. The people inside begin to flee, but are met at each exit by a separate SF team. You turn on your target vision and identify two HVTs running towards one of the exits, at one of the SF teams. The other one is nowhere to be found.

Ama:
You hold on tight as your pod descends towards the surface. You're a brand new recruit, and this is your first jump. You're scared to your bones. There are two other recruits in the squad with you, and your NCO has only been on one jump before. You think of your family back home, how you can't wait until you're with them again. Then there is an explosion in the pod. It begins to fill with fire, and the pod is filled with smoke and screaming. The pod has malfunctioned. It hits a skyscraper of the urban center and the doors fly open. You are thrown through a window, and land on the ground hard. You turn around to see two of your squad members falling, on fire, and screaming. Your last squad member grabs the window ledge, and holds on as tight as he can to the shattered glass before it breaks. He screams, and plummets to his death. You are all alone, recruit.

ATHATH:
You land directly in the middle of a street that is already under heavy fighting. The doors of your pod open and you follow your NCO to cover inside of a building. You peek over your cover for one second and a man comes flying right over it, propelled through the window by a minigun. You hear screaming on the street as men charge forward into the machine gun. Your NCO motions for your squad to move up through the building you're in.

//Really good rolls for all of you, except for Ama. In any other situation than the first turn, a 1 would've gotten you killed.
