They do if they incinerate the bullets before they can reach them. Maybe. Not sure if 'incinerating bullets before they reach you' can be done, maybe it would just create exploding bullets.

Anyway, Roseheart, the antlion is a bug-type so Volcarona incinerates it. Although, if he evolves into Vibrava... Isn't it weird that Trapinch turns into a dragon? It's based on a an antlion for gods sake. Is there some story of antlion a turning into dragons, like carp?

Papyrus is not made of paper. He's made of bone. He'd probably be a ghost/ground type (because bones), which would resist fire attacks. Papyrus wins because of typing advantage.

I don't know all that but I had forgotten when I posted: My ant lion is actually an adult in the fly form so it probably would be either the second stage which is still the same or the dragon stage. But even if it was the first stage thats part ground isn't it? So that's not a total super effective.

My new avatar is a rose and a heart so I have no idea what that means versus anything anymore.

Edit: Actually that whole family is part ground.
