A shotgun could easily kill a penguin in just one shot, unless said penguin has some form of protection from bullets that isn't displayed on the avatar.

On the other hand, said penguin has used magical projectiles to kill my own avatar and the avatars of several other players (supposedly), and would likely have access to some other forms of magic, making it difficult to determine who would win beforehand.
