You guys needed a captain? Well here I am. Don't expect me to be a light and fluffy psych though. Also, what are the differences between weapon types exactly?

You FOOL. You should never show art on these, or else you will have people attempting to get you to make MORE. And MORE. Until EVERYTHING is drawn.

And then they will ask you to draw creepy things. Just you wait and see.

Thats at the lowest levels of creepy, as in, its creepy the first time.

But there are some warped minds out there, and mark my words, they will attempt to have images drawn. Images that will destroy the thread once and for all.

In other news, Zanzetkuken, you mind if I try to draw the ship in one form or another? Or atleast try to make a better map than what you have up there?

Look over the varying weapons in the 'Ship information', several types are listed.

Not putting anything into the tactical stuff (ex. Ship-to-Ship Combat)?

Also random character art because I can.

That is quite spectacular.  Feel free to draw up anything you come across in the game you wish to draw up (Though probably want to avoid the ship til I have the Space Engineers model done).

I'm actually planning on making the ship in Space Engineers.  I do have a barebones version right now, but that one was just to determine how the ship's layout would fit together.

For the tactical skills, not really, given the overlap with one of the pilots whom I'd assume would also be controlling the weapons via slaved circuits or something. There's not really a guide to what skills a captain needs.

And the spoiler doesn't really... elaborate on the actual difference, just gives just a few different weapons that use different skills.

Actually made a post on it, but it was probably easy to miss:
The Captain and First Officer are both commanders of the ship, First Officer having control when the Captain is sleeping/writing up reports/when ordered to/etc.  Their knowledge falls under the tactical portions of the skill system, having investment of knowledge in the different weapon types of the ship and ground forces, ship-to-ship combat, starfighter combat, and the such so they could give proper orders.  Their orders don't neccessarily have to be followed, but it would be recommended, due to both chain of command reasons and they also gain a pm giving them variable quality insight into the situation (ex. future enemy movement, whether their shields will go down (enemy stats are normally hidden), etc).  The ground force commander would also get this in regards to ground engagements, but it is of a bit lower quality than the First Officer, who themselves has a bit weaker than the Captain.  Others can also get these insight moments, but those three get them regularly.
The insight quality is affected by a relevant skill, so, for example, if you are in Ship-to-Ship combat, you wind up getting a bonus to insight of enemy ship movements.

To be more specific, I had meant the damage types, with how some weapons do more damage against certain targets (ex. Shields) while less damage against others.

Holy shit, why would a captain need to be such as master hacker, I mean, leader of the cyber warfare division or something but geez.

I got the thought of a captain boasting to everyone to how he is a "leet" hacker and how he'd "pown" everyone who messes up on-ship

Yeah dude, sorry but you're dealing with the captain of a ship who doesn't have a single skill in the "ship" part of things.  ??? No name, no age, no appearance, and no background? O god.
