It's a misnomer, really. Ethics courses actually tend to cover Philosophy as well, as they tend to be intertwined.

They generally examine three different aspects; foundational debates (Platonic/Socratic/Aristotelian philosophy), more modern systems (Utilitarianism/Kantian ethics) and application to modern day scenarios (euthanasia debates).
