Background:-Personal Description: Willowy and well-toned, Louise's lush black hair and refined features stand in stark contrast to the smattering of freckles which dot her pale skin. A jagged scar traces its way down from her left elbow on the outside of the arm, terminating on the back of her hand. Another faint, puckered scar sits midway up her back, just over her fourth right rib. Louise characteristically wears a welcoming smile, though it tends to turn rather less benign when she focuses intently on something of interest. She typically dresses in close-fitting cargo khakis bloused over her well-worn pair of
Courteney Selous, with cotton shirts in neutral colors, typically khaki, olive, and acacia.
(KEY)-Ideology/Beliefs: "There is nothing so lovely in the world as a proper hunt, and naught that can keep me from that quintessential contest of will. The laws of man and god are irrelevant; life must be lived to the fullest extent of one's desires if it is to be lived at all."
-Significant People:
Reinhard Hakkens, an absolute dear, and my co-conspirator of sorts. We met on my second safari while I was taking a break from university life; we struck it off immediately. The very next year I returned to South Africa on a private flight accompanied by my weapons in a hidden cargo compartment and invited him on a less-than-legal adventure in Limpopo. The third day out, we spotted a black rhinoceros, a damned rare find in this era. It took almost a third of our ammunition to put it down, but we succeeded eventually. Sadly we only managed to save a few slivers of the horns; wildlife conservation officials stumbled across our little camp and I took a bullet in the back on our hasty escape. Since then I've been back no less than five times, and he's just as much fun as he ever was.
Dr. Melissa Owens. Ah, it feels strange to call Mellow anything but these days, but I'll bow to convention for the sake of clarity, just this once. She was a professor of biology at Amherst when I attended, but scarcely had seven or eight years on me; a real genius, that girl. We became friends after a rather unfortunate public disagreement on ethics. After apologies and coffee... honestly, I still haven't the faintest clue of how it all happened, but it
did. We talk at least once or twice a year, more if I'm in the country often.
Bill Lerner, that boy.
Still a boy, even if he puts on airs of manhood when in public. The two of us grew up as next-best things to brother and sister--he inherited his father's position managing Bicknell & Co., while I got my parents' inheritance when they disappeared. Or rather, a decent length of time
after they disappeared, damned interfering government. Bill manages the operations of the brewery in my absence. That is to say, he manages the brewery. Hah. I think he still has that silly crush on me, even after all these years.
-Meaningful Locations: Bicknell &. Co. Central Brewery, in the hills of northwestern Appalachia. Our... well, I hesitate to call it a mansion, so our
family home then, it overlooks the brewery from farther up the hill. We've built this land up over three generations and it's the source of our good fortune. T'was this very same hillside where granddaddy set up his first still. May be that it's cursed, too, seeing as how we've been born early and died young for those three generations, but I think that I'm on track to break that--26 and no damned little babies yet!
-Treasured Possessions: .45 Revolver--a Ruger Redhawk chambered for .45 Colt, originally her father's; he gifted it to her on her 16th birthday. Has engravings of both parents' initials in a relief with wildflowers and bottles.
-Traits: Abnormal Stillness: Louise has spent a great deal of time stalking dangerous game and silently judging people; there is a marked difference in her posture and unconscious behavior when she is or isn't actively engaged with another person. In the case of the latter, she's animated and cheery, always with ready praise and encouragement. For the former, she seems as much animal as human, and unnaturally still, regardless of what she's actually concentrating on.
-Injuries and Scars: As described above: Bullet hole on right upper back; slash down left forearm.
-Phobias and Manias:
-Arcane Tomes, Spells, and Artifacts:
-Encounters with Strange Entities:
