Nope. Injuries, Phobias, Artifacts, and Encounters just remain blank.

They are mostly for recording things that go on in game.

But how could I explain my character's 99% charm without the encounter? Not mention, rework nearly his entire personality/background to fit.

But how could I explain my character's 99% charm without the encounter? Not mention, rework nearly his entire personality/background to fit.

Include it in your character story... there is more to your character then those slots.

Basically these slots have a mechanical and continual use. As they changed and are modified as the game goes on. A childhood home can be torn down or tarnished in some way, you can become estranged from your family or they can be murdered.

Though your character shouldn't have any true knowledge or justified belief in the supernatural anyway. You meet some guy in red and he becomes your fairy godmother and you conclude that it must be magic, is stretching it.

As for justifying Charm... Of a Drifter? It easily can be the tool of your trade. You charm your way into people's homes and you are very good at it.

I do understand your giving me a hook though. Just write it a bit more subtly. Though I am not QUITE sure what I'd even put to grab that hook. CoC is a very, malicious setting... becoming one of the most charming people in the world out of the blue is usually where I'd call the mortician. Though as long as your aware that your charm is basically the sword of Damocles I am fine with that.

---

Also I FINALLY found that you are allowed to have multiple backgrounds in single slots. (note the your key background is a specific background within the slot). I had to read a lot of these books.

I should also state that you do not HAVE to have slots filled (or any slots filled). Technically I believe you don't need to have a key background, but that is basically giving you a penalty.

-

Edit:

You know what Tomasque? I'll roll with it.

So long as you are fine with its significance. Though put a reduced version of that into the "Experience with the supernatural" section... and put the full version into your character story.

Here's the new and improved character sheet. The bio is not yet finished, but I've changed the Encounters thing to make it shorter and underlined the "key part" in each of the sections:

Spoiler: Mark Kovir (click to show/hide)

...and yes, the bio so far is just the original Encounter that I copypasted.

Am I doing it right? Pretty much her entire life has been shaped by and shaped in turn her worldview, orienting around that set of assertions. I figured it's pretty obvious, but the main hook there related to how that hunter/prey fight/flight philosophy will bend and break when applied to eldritch creatures and circumstances which can't be fought in the normal manner, and what will happen when she tries to anyways.

It looks fine Flying Dice, and I will assume your numbers are correct.

It makes sense in context of the game as well... and I could EASILY imagine what would constitute spending freetime indulging in it.

Breaking it doesn't come as easily to mind, but that is more of a limitation of my imagination and I am sure if I end up having to act on it I'll have something ready.

Cool. I mostly wanted to stay away from the core archetypes of CoC while also avoiding Henderson-likes without just making a boring ordinary Joe Blow.

If you're looking for more avenues of attack:

Hope that helps. If any of it doesn't mesh with what you have planned, I'll delete it.

Attacks have to be specific.

If you use your ideology in freetime and you get bad luck and destroy it (through a roll of 95-100) I have to basically write out a situation that occurred that has destroyed your ideology in your eyes. Shattered your faith in it to such a degree that you don't think you can ever go back to believing in it.

I think I have an idea for it.

Probably should have killed the uncle. It would have given more motivation. But I'm tired and I've finished it, to enough of my satisfaction.

I'm very sorry for how late this is. I had some mysterious internet troubles and was too busy to do much about it.

The History and Formation of the Asuro Syndacate

-The Four Pillars: The four major families that run the Asuro Syndicate.
--Current Head: Ettore Vignali

-Asaro Family: Coming from Italy in the 1900s they have prided themselves on their leadership skills as they carefully taken a victimized italian minority in their region and put them under a strong protectorate. Though officially they have been wiped out, there are enough inconsistencies in the police reports that it has become almost a myth that several members still exist.
--Current Head: None

-Vignali Family: Originally a poor Italian family from the country who were used for labor for the Asaro. Over time they became the trouble shooters and ones who were the most hands on in the later crooked dealings. It is said that a Vignali knows how to use a gun before they know how to walk, and know how to fake a smile before they learn to cry. Currently they are the head of the family due to the Asaro's being disposed.
--Current Head: Carlo Vignali

-Pacione Family: Originally they opposed the Asuro family but after a time they joined. They brought business savvy and legitimate business to the family. Over time their power has been growing within the family to the point where they run the majority of the family's dealings, though they know that it is best to keep their dealings to the dark and leave the leadership to the expendable.
--Luigi Pacione

-Keohler Family: A German family originally brought in to protect them from the Post-WW2 barbarism. They have the loosest connection with the family but their roots run deep. If the Asuro need a crooked cop then they look no further then the Keohler. You can never know when the man at your side is a member of this family, perhaps making them as dangerous or even more so then the Vignali.
--John Alabaster

--Asaro Family Timeline--

-1910: The Asaro and Vignali Family create the Asaro Syndicate in hopes to protect themselves from what was a xenophobic America at the time. Don Rico Asaro (age 40) assumes head.

-1920: Prohibition begins as the family takes their first steps towards becoming a crime syndicate. They bring in the Pacione Family and fold in their Wine production to facilitate it.

-1930: The base at Barberry Rest is established and is raided twice in the next three years, though nothing is found.

-1933: Prohibition ends as Asaro's income starts to dry up

-1939: World War 2 begins as many members of the Asaro family end up in war spreading their funds more and more thin.

-1945: WW2 Ends and as a desperate measure the Asaro family adopts the Koeher German family to bolster numbers

-1947: Don Rico Asaro dies

-1950: Mysterious deaths plague Asaro family but eventually new head is found. Don Anton Asaro (age 60)

-1960: Mysterious deaths keep on occuring. Don Anton Asaro seriously injured and found with two others dead in Barberry Rest, but doesn't comment on it.

-1967: Don Anton Asaro slain as plane crashes with other members of the family. Ettore Vignali expedites leadership selection and becomes Don Ettore Vignali (age 30)

-1970-1980: The Reign of Don Ettore Vignali begins with stunning success.

-1985: Don Ettore Vignali injured at Barberry Rest, appears frightened but doesn't comment on it.

-1990: Don Ettore Vignali goes into hiding. In spite of this prosperity continues to bolster the family in all their endevours.

-2002: Don Ettore Vignali leaves hiding as he attempts to convert the Asaro Syndacate into a legitimate business and will spend over 50% of the syndicates built up wealth in a short period of time.

-2015: Don Ettore Vignali

-

Barberry Rest
-Country: USA
-State: Vermont
-Location: Along the Appalachian mountain range.

-Village
-A Small village that is estimated to have a population of about 2-5 hundred members. They keep to themselves and do not speak to anyone not born in the village. They seem to be quite religious and attend Church twice a week (Friday and Sunday) in the Villages two churches. The only outsiders they seem to tolerate is the town sheriff. At sunset the village tends to shut down and they won't even answer their doors. There are some accommodations for visitors, but the frigged unwelcome keeps people from staying for long.

-Area
-Named after the Barberry bushes that grow thick around this area. Unique to this region they grow bright red Barberries but they are poisonous, though even if you were hungry enough to eat them you first must contend with the almost razor sharp thorns that jut from this plant. In the past the Asaro Syndicate would make drinks with this berry, it was eventually discontinued. Outside of this the area is very remote and is well over a day from any other city, village, or hamlet.

-Asaro Grounds
-Built to produce and hide alcohol in the 1930s the Asaro mansion is a massive ground containing two mansions, three guest houses, five staff cottages, and two orchards. Under the grounds itself includes miles of tunnels that have been abandoned due to an overzealous amount of booby traps lain within. Many people have died or done missing in the Asaro grounds throughout the years.

Farmer O'Flaherty, reporting in. Haven't conjured up the second half of my sheet yet, and I don't think I can do it today, either. But I'll get to it... tomorrow, let's say. Depends on how RL works out.
