At least you don't have to deal with earthquakes, can't physically see them coming like either tornadoes or hurricanes and can't run or hide from them either.

I was gonna make some comment or other comparing hurricanes and tornadoes, but decided to just make snarky humor about earthquakes instead. Also, latest track has Dorian curving north as it hits Florida, so, it might not enter the Gulf.

Oh come on, I was just trying to make snarky humor out of the argument. I am aware of fracking causing quakes (they're basically using pressure to displace oil and the stress from that has to go somewhere, so, not surprised) and Oklahoma has the New Madrid hotspots as well.

the recent quakes are nothing to write home to mom about. The ones listed in the Hutch news article epicentered about 30 min drive from here, and I mistook them for my cats being overly rambunctious upstairs. Whoopie doo.

They are noplace near what California gets.  They ARE increasing in frequency and severity though.

Yeah, Puerto Rico got grazed by it, but Trump needs a punch to the twitter mouth as he made it sound like they got a direct hit by a Cat 5 or somesuch. Still, even getting grazed by a Cat 1 or 2 isn't going to help things.

They just mostly don't have their shit together, or really want to put in the effort to have their shit together. I mean, I can't judge too harshly. They just don't see a reason to prepare. It's just sorta their thing. Their culture is like always being 90% on vacation, which sounds pretty good in the short term.

Yep. First it was "Middleish of Florida in three days" then "Bahamas in three days and somewhere in Florida after" and now it's "Somewhere in Florida unless it's anywhere along the entire coast of Georgia instead?"

Or possibly stroll along the eastern Florida beachline. Hurricane models are kind of all over the place after the Bahamas, which they tend to be until maybe a day or so out.
