EDIT: Starting to get the rain band sweep pattern here -- rain for 30 minutes, clear for 30 minutes, rain for 30 minutes, etc.
Looking at USGS rain gauges, Atlantic Beach has already had 10.79" of rain in the last 6 hours, with nearly 3" just in the last hour.

DOUBLE EDIT: 7.5' of storm surge so far in New Bern, most of downtown is underwater.

Yeah, New Bern and that whole estuary looks like it's getting the worst case scenario with the storm slowing and being angled just right that the wind will be be pushing the water upriver even after Flo moves west.

Florence has weakened to a Category 1, with top winds of 90mph. Central pressure steady at 956mbar.
Forward progress remains sluggish at 6mph.
Windfield steady at 80/195.

Track remains relatively unchanged.

Morning report:
Fort RedKing has power but no network (because power is out in town), so I don't have stats at the moment. Wind looks about 20mph. Waffle House is definitely open, because that's where I'm posting from.

Things in Raleigh aren't too severe - to be honest, only the wind shows that this is a hurricane. RK's only issue is gonna be having his house flooded by that river, all else is fine in this region. I had power blink, but I've still got power and network.

I'm alive. Internet was down most of the day due to a power outage in Hillsborough, and I lacked enough cell signal to even get text messages, much less webpages.

Getting lashed with periodic rain bands, no flooding yet, minor debris down, small tree limbs and such.

Yeah, friend of mine said a 500 year old tree fell and caused the outage.  Really fits Hillsborough's "everything must be historical" vibe.
Durham had outages too but we've been fine here, so far.  Save for eating too many pickled jalapenos.
