Yeesh, good luck.

I'm really glad we don't get extreme weather down here.

Grabbed a couple hours sleep. Rain subsided some for a while so the creek subsided quite a bit. But the river is at 9'+ and crawling into the yard. Evacuating my kids to their grandmother. Me and the GF spent the wee hours of the morning moving as much stuff as we could to the 2nd floor.

Good luck. You can have mine, too, since I live in St. Mary's County, where there's never bad weather.

St. Mary's, Maryland?  I wouldn't feel too secure right now if I was you.

Or be able to plant rice in the backyard!

But yeah, good luck Redking. I hope it goes as well as possible given the circumstances. Don't forget to turn off the electrics, it that is possible.

Weird to me how North Carolina is getting slammed but it's just slightly windy in Maryland right by the ocean.

River appears to have crested at 11.71' and has been dropping slowly over the last hour. Rain is just spotty showers. The big question is what the rain will be like tomorrow and how much it can drain today.

For point of reference, 24 hours ago the river was at 2.4' depth. And that was after a week of rain. I have newfound respect for just how fast that can rise. Can understand how people drown in hurricanes because they went to sleep and woke up when the water was lapping the bedsheets.

You may:

1. attempt to ford the river
2. caulk a wagon and float across
3. take a ferry
4. wait for conditions to improve
5. die of dysentery
