Waking in a Dungeon, RtD6, OOC
« on: September 30, 2015, 03:21:41 pm »

Link to the IC.

The premise is simple, you're a humanoid creature waking up in a dungeon, no weapons, no armor, just clothes and a lantern (yes, I'm being a smart-ass and saying torches in closed areas is a bad idea).
I'm only going to allow you to pick from 4 races, for simplicity.
Your character doesn't know how they got to the dungeon, they just slept somewhere (be it next to a cave, in a secure jail cell, guarding the princess' bedroom (fell asleep on the job), etc.) and suddenly woke up here.

This is going to use an RtD6 system, but bonuses generally makes your attack hit more often, and penalties increase the likelihood of messing it up or just missing.
So you get 1 Perk, 2 Buffs, and can take a third Buff if you apply 2 Weaknesses.
Anyway, the Character Sheet:
Code: [Select]
Name: (I recommend max 2 names, and keeping them either short, or meaningful)
Race: (I'll explain a bit down)
Appearance: (Either lots of description, or very little)
Perk: (Only 1)
Buff: (you can only give them in +1, no +2, and please avoid overlap, you can pick 2, 3 if you take 2 weaknesses)
Weakness: (you can apply as many as you want, but only the first 2 will give an additional buff)
Story: (Who were you before you appeared here?)
The 4 races.
Human: Compatible, Normal beard.
Elf: +1 Dexterity, -1 Constitution, Magical, No beard.
Dwarf: +1 Constitution, -1 Dexterity, Moods, Epic beard.
Goblin: +1 Strength, -1 Intelligence, Prideful, Normal beard.

There's 6 Perks to choose from.
Door-breaker: +/- 1 Strength.
Purse-snatcher: +/- 1 Dexterity.
Load-bearer: +/- 1 Constitution.
Smart-ass: +/- 1 Intelligence.
Wise-guy: +/- 1 Wisdom.
Fancy-lad: +/- 1 Charisma.

Buffs and Weaknesses can't affect stats, they can only affect specific things, like attacking, HP, use of certain weapons (sword covers all swords), use of furniture as weapons, etc.
Buffs and Weaknesses can either give +1 or -1, so getting a buff to punching may make you more likely to punch holes in things you may not want to break.

By being in a dungeon, I can easily make a map.

Heh, I kinda realize afterwards that this is in the wrong place on the forum. But I'm not sure how to fix that.
This in an RtD, but it's not in the RtD section.

Ah well, maybe a mod comes by and fixes it (if they can't fix it, I don't know who can).

Oh, and you can make a character if you want. It should be simple.

Name: Shard
Race: Goblin
Appearance: Shard is fairly tall for a goblin, mainly because of her impeccable posture. Her eyes are an icy blue, and rarely betray any emotion at all. Her hair is cropped short, and it tends to stick up in spikes.
Perk: Smart-ass
Buff: Maces, Sheilds
Story: Shard worked as a mercenary before ending up in the dungeon, although she prefers th term 'freelancer.' More often than not, she ended up being hired as a bodyguard. The fact that she replied to questions monosyllabicaly, if she even replied at all, played a large part in this.

Oh hey, a cool thing that's new.

Spoiler: Character Sheet (click to show/hide)

@AkumaKasai
If you gave your character a weakness, doesn't that mean you get a third buff?

It needs to be 2 weaknesses, for a 3rd buff. This means you can further min-max, it's just going to cost you.

Anyway, accepted, now to edit.
Edit: Done.

Is it too late to change my character sheet? I didn't realize weaknesses were optional.

I have a question that might be of interest to the other players, as well. What is the history between the various species? My main concern is the opinion the human populace has about the goblins, but has anything else happened that might sour relations between two species?
