You turn Fluffles and charge the four escaping Goblins. You cut down two as you pass them, and begin circling the remaining two, herding them towards the force of Humans and Orcs, where they are quickly cut down. You dismount Fluffles and follow the skinny dwarf who leads you to a hidden path leading to some small stone doors. The dwarf gives a special knock, and the doors open outward. The door led to a passageway that was built for dwarves, so the ceiling was low. The humans could walk mostly upright, but the Orcs had to slouch in order to fit. Fluffles had the hardest time fitting, and he was squeezed against all sides of the rock tunnel, his scales screeching against the walls. Fortunately, the tunnel soon widened, then the ceiling grew taller. After about a minute of walking, the tunnel came out into the larges room you had ever seen, or will see in your life.
You emerged into a large cavern, shaped like a hexagonal pyramid with the walls sloping up to a fine point at the top. All along the edges of the pyramid were outcroppings of rocks forming a continuous spiral balcony connecting all the rooms to the top. Your company was on the second level of the spiral, around 50 feet above the ground level. Inside was the most chaotic battle you had seen in your life. What you saw made you despair.
The Goblins were pouring through the side opposite of your company, through the crack in the wall that matched the fissure you saw from outside the fortress. The Dwarves were in several small, but efficient circles of death. Any Goblin foolish enough to get in range of the Dwarves hammers were immediately obliterated. However, if one Dwarf was to falter, the entire circle would perish at a rapid pace due to the sheer amount of Goblin attackers. Goblin archers rained down arrows on the dwarves, but the thick and heavy armor and helmets prevented any serious damage from occurring. In the center of the pyramid, were two dragons, and one of them was dead. It was laying belly-up along the ground, with countless arrows and spears bristling from its underside. You assume that this was the dragon of Gorlag, who the skinny dwarf said was dead. The other dragon was a fire type, and it was still flying and fighting, but it looked weak. It also had several weapons stuck in its underside, and its wings were nearly torn to shreds. Its rider was still flying atop, shooting crossbow bolts at the masses of Goblins pouring through. You assume this is Fleister and his dragon. You notice that Fleister is slowly loosing altitude, but not fast enough to be the start of an attack run. You realize that this is because the dragon simply cannot stay aloft with the amount of injury it has sustained. Fleister realizes this as well, and lands his dragon hard in the middle of a large group of Goblins, crushing them all. Fleister's dragon begins raising and setting its legs quickly to keep Goblins from climbing aboard, but quite a few still manage. The Goblins (who are great climbers) begin rummaging up towards the dragon's head with spears ready to stab into the eye and kill it. You look at Gorlag's dragon and notice a spear embedded in its eye, no doubt via the same method you are noticing here. You are too high to jump down, but perhaps Fluffles is strong enough for a controlled glide downwards. His scales on his back and sides are hard enough to withstand most attacks, but his underside is still too delicate to withstand much injury.
