I tried Toribash years ago, and found it to be (at least in my skilled hands) proto-QWOP. I couldn't even throw a punch/kick and remain standing, much less do all the crazy shit I see in videos.

I haven't played toribash in about a year now, and probably won't play it atm since I currently decided to go back to League of Legends and check if the game has actualy improved so much as they claim it has (hint: it has), but its still something that keeps comming back to me, specially now that its on steam. I wonder if my old account still works :v

I actually got pretty good at balancing movements in Toribash a couple of years ago. Maybe I'll give it a go again.

I think I still have a recording of a glorious moment somewhere where I piledrived a guy.

That's basically what Judo is: a single attack followed by both parties attempting not to be disqualified :P

Recently, through a combination of play and careful thought, I have found mushu, wushu and len3shu to be the bestest. Any thoughts?

I would, but it's really late and I have almost no time anyway.

Re: Preferred game types:

I generally like to play aikido; I've seen some excellent games of it on the public servers. I also play a lot of acrojoust.

Aikido is one of the more skill based modes. You can really pull off some awesome moves in that mode, even against shovelers. Judo is more luck based, but pretty fun, and games don't usualy last as long.

AAAaah God. Just had the funniest tourney.

I was beaten in the first turn, after taking down a second dan black belt, as a brown belt kicked my leg off. Kinda fluke. THen a green belt somehow lucked past another semifinalist brown belt, who had formerly beaten a black. Then the snarky brown finalist went up against the green, and, due to the brown launching back at him, beat him after falling behind on points at the start. THere was even a second launch by the brown belt, which he failed to get enough points off. SO the green won a 500 tc tourney, with two browns, two black belts, and a second dan in the mix  :P

:,-) Completely hilarious. A couple of weird people, me included, were going nuts on chat by the final , amazed at the dumb luck, profails and general madness, and the brown got completely wound up, so pissed off he lost. Funniest shit ever.

I would have paid 500 tc to see it happen.

Oh, and then someone called Black_Goku, evidently famous, came in, which was another kind of weird.

Reviving because I'm too lazy to understand the toribash forums.

I just wondered, does anyone know how to tell a move from a replay? I did a great punch starter, saved the replay, and now can't do it any more, having forgotten how. I also can;t work out how I did it. I'm not using any skins, would this help?

I think you can load a replay and then pause it between frames and check what parts are contracting/extending/relaxing/etc, so you can actualy copy any move like this.

I still actualy remember all my old judo moves, including a one hit kill punch thing that works half the time, due to having used them so much :v
