Recruitable legendary mechs and MechWarriors in the extended campaign are funded. 5 days left, ~$350k short of PvP multiplayer.

They added three sets of backer missions for the final week. We're at 51 total complete right now, needing 52 for the Grayson Death Calryle cameo and 56 for the Natasha Kerensky cameo, both in the extended campaign.

Truthfully I could care less about recruiting legendary mech pilots... MOSTLY because you don't get to keep them (rip!)

Though they are going to hit that target for sure.

Yeah. It already hit all the targets I care about as well. I was worried it wouldn't reach the extended campaign.

Now, we just need to see if they can maintain the quality. I really hope so. I want this to be good so much.

I upped my back to the $50 level so I get beta access and also so another $25 go towards GETTING MULTIPLAYER WHICH TOTALLY NEEDS TO HAPPEN! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Edit: also, yes, I could totally care less about specific characters. I generally prefer if everything is procedural. I have a phobia of limited content, as it turns out.

Oh, yeah, this is all gravy. But it's shiny gravy.

I tried as hard as I dang could... but in the end I cannot get the funds for this kickstarter in time. I am disappointed.

The last of the in-game backer mission rewards has been achieved. Doesn't look like we'll make the additional ~$250k to PvP, but whatever.

Truthfully I could care less about recruiting legendary mech pilots... MOSTLY because you don't get to keep them (rip!)
And concerning this, I had a sudden realization that we might have misunderstood. The text says:

Quote
In addition to the game's standard 'Mechs and customizable, procedurally-generated MechWarriors, we'll include rare legendary 'Mechs to find, and rare hero MechWarriors to hire - including some famous characters from BattleTech history. Such legends may not stick around for long, but will be well worth hiring if you can afford them.

I think what it's actually supposed to mean is that they'll only be available to hire for short periods of time (so if you don't snatch them up quick, they'll disappear), not that they'll randomly leave after you've hired them.

Including the Paypal money not listed on the KS page, we're about ~$50k short of PvP with 42 hours left. If it gets down to 12 hours and we don't hit it yet, that's the time to up your contribution if you want it--I probably will at that stage.

Multiplayer GET.
[/b]

Also, I hope there are some interesting stretch goals in MP. So far, from what I've read, it seems like all you do is customise lances and fight on Solaris, so persistence doesn't really seem to be a thing.

No stretch goals on the MP.

So what happens now that the project has passed $2,500,000? Will we add additional funding goals and make the game even larger in scope?

No.

As we said in our first Live Stream Twitch Q&A session, after Stage 4 is unlocked, additional funding will go towards polishing the features and content we’ve already committed to. After that, any additional funds will go toward funding a Post-Launch Live Team that will continue developing additional features and content. First among them will be Cooperative Multiplayer, which will allow you and a friend to face-off against AI opponents.

I'm actually pretty happy with this. I'd rather have the game as outlined with potential for expansion than a game at lower quality because they had to spread themselves too thin working in a bunch of extra MP features.

Oh, cool. For those of you who couldn't catch the drunkstream, it was clarified during one of the early questions that the post $2.5m money/live team are going towards development of extra content for the single-player open-ended campaign as well, not just the multiplayer.
