I think someone modded where you can choose portrait and VO from the start. 
I'll check it out after whenever I finish my first campaign. 
I'm at week 750+

I just added two Coventry arm mod + (40 melee damage) to my banshee.  It is named Foreman.  Because it does 210 melee damage.

I'm going to imagine this is a reference to Red For(-e)man, and your Banshee sticks it's foot of all the robot asses.

TFW your AC20 smacks a firestarter in the CT, strips all armor and leaves at literally 1 structural HP. The next three attacks you take against the fucking thing with various stuff (like lasers, LRM's, SRM's) hit everything except the goddamn CT so you're forced to just stomp the bastard to end its misery.

It straight up deleted a wolverine, one swing and boom, whole torso just gone.  It was, in the interest of full disclosure, a pirate 'mech with the shoddy tag, so it was only around half armor, but that shit was positively hilarious.

Managed to kill the pilot of an awesome on the first contract with assault mechs with minimal mech damage thanks to a combination of the loadout you have plus liberal application of brute force. Needless to say it looks like I might be lucky enough to continue my trend of lucky mech collection.

I got the unique King Crab variant from the final mission, the default loadout sucks so I rebuilt it into something more my style.  Sadly, now that I have it, my gorgeous Battlemaster is obsolete, and has been retired from the A team.

How do you get that, anyway? I didn't get the option to salvage any of it. Is it just a case of it being unique so you have to have all three parts or you get nothing at all?

I used a combination of LRM and SRM to knock it down until the pilot experienced critical life failure.  And since it is unique you do need to get all three pieces at the same time.
