I've always been a little bit astounded at how blatant hijacking attempts sometimes are in forum game threads. Sure, its been two days, and two days is certainly not SOON by most standards, but things happen sometimes. Or all the time sometimes.

I can see that on a multiple choice survey asking "What is the purpose of a forum game" where I might check the box that says "To entertain a group of players", you'd check one of the OTHER options.

It's been four days since any such entertainment on a daily updated game. Alas you must have a higher Investigation bonus than my character: deducing this was not merely a joke, but a full fledged HIJACKING. BRILLIANT!

It's... just a game thread, and out of many on this forum. Just because there aren't any updates for a mere four-day period doesn't mean that that entertainment is forfeit forever, nor does it suddenly mean the thread for this specific game is no longer the thread for this specific game, nor does it mean someone ought to come in and run their own game; if you want to do that, you can just make your own thread. This is the thread for TCM's game, and if you're grabbing the spotlight because of a pause and running your own game, then yes, it is hijacking.

You know what, if I really committed such a faux pas, have a mod ban me.

You know what, if I really committed such a faux pas, have a mod ban me.
You should probably clarify it was a joke, if it was.

If it was serious, why didn't you make a new thread?
Edit: OP asked me not to double post, and this was really only supposed to last ONE JOKE POST and maybe an "lol" reply or two later.

LETS BE CLEAR

If there is a secret consentual agreement to not make a joke post of that nature, in a joking style the op is using, if that is an agreement on bay12.

I AM NOT ON BOARD

with that.

Okay I over reacted there, but my point still kind of stands. However, I probably could have been much less inflammatory about the way I made it. For that I do apologize.

Also yeah it was 4 days not 2, so my bad. Delays happen to a lot of games, and oftentimes a game that updates every day starts updating every other day, and then once a week, and then ever other week, and so on. Honestly, I just wasn't sure how serious you were, because some people actually do go through with that sort of thing. I've seen it go on for multiple pages before, and that's on 50 posts per page.

I'll admit that the post amused me, and it was even fairly well written, but I was worried how far it might go.  But you seem like a nice person so I probably went to far. I mean I'd definitely expect a full derail from someone like, say poketwo (no offense meant, you've improved greatly lately), but you're highly invested in the existing game and probably wouldn't want to see it end.

I am sorry I let it upset me.

My intention was to only derail as long as OP was gone, giving rail to go back at any time without needing to take it canon.

Basically a glorified bump and outlet for my interest in this game beyond art.

I planned to post it every 2 days the OP was inactive. I will not post it anywhere else, because this is what and where it's styled for.

But if anyone asks me not to post the next entry I wont.

Round 8: Reports of Game Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated
Location: Denmark, Wisconsin

Angelina Silva Investigates and Analyzes Exectue's mysterious ability to venture into paintings. Execute proceeds over to the one of the paintings on the wall, and places his palms adjacent in the center. As he spreads them, a portal opens, the rims of it glowing purple but the inside goes directly through to the other tangible world; a dragonfly flies through the portal and buzzes around the ceiling of the paint shop. Analysis at this point isn't helping Angelina get anywhere, this power defies all conventional logic, at least for now.

Powder Miner helps the paramedic out as he lifts the unconscious man with the help of his Jaffa. The combined strength of the three of them allows them to easily transport the patient down to another street, out of the way of the oncoming gas cloud. The paramedic thanks the two aliens for their uncharacteristically charitable nature towards humans, and as a reward, tells them the fastest road to get out of town. "Just head West along Bullard, it's quiet and there won't be stuff in your way. I'm not sure where you two are headed..."

Andres marches out of the gas cloud back into town where he spots Pikorge driving around wildly, which meets the criteria for his qualification of Asshole. (5 vs. 1) Andres fires a single shot into the Front Right Tire of the Rover 200 Coupe, sending Pikorge veering off to the side of the road. (8 ) Andres veers off into the curb and surges back into his seat from the impact. He isn't hurt, but with a tire blown out, driving this thing is going to be a lot harder.

Pikorge backs up his car and makes a three point turn, zooming off into the direction that he came from before Andres can shoot at him more. Soon enough, he's back at Nanobone's position. Sure, Nanobone's is on the sidewalk, but that's nothing that's going to stop Pikorge. (2-2 vs. 1) Pikorge, unable to control the vehicle, veers into the curb again and comes to an immediate stop. Nanobones then falls backwards onto his ass, before getting back to his feet as Pikorge backs up slightly, both slightly embarrassed with themselves as fighters. (3-2 vs. 8 ) Nanobones accelerates and slowly climbs up the sidewalk as Nanobones aims his rifle right into the front windshield of the car. (9 vs. 5) The rifle bullet pierces the window and hits Pikorge straight in the left shoulder, tearing through the bone.

Person heads into the garage, but the front door is locked shut. He looks for some way to open the garage door itself from the outside, (9) and finds a winch that does just that. Pulling on it, the door opens up completely and he pulls his Austin-Healey inside. There are a bunch of spare parts and tools inside the garage, including windows but Person would need to spend some time and effort repairing his car to install them. There's even an intact Sedan in the garage, although it is locked.

Megggas goes down the road of debris and cars with the Mustard Gas Cloud hot on his tail. (8 ) He speeds down the road, carefully not to trip or fall over any of the random pieces of metal and concrete that line the broken trail. The road delivers him out of the town where he comes across the beginnings of the wooded area. (9) Finding a patch of dry earth and decayed plant life, Megggas lights a match and starts a small fire that quickly blazes up and starts to consume the surrounding area. Satisfied, he jogs back to the outskirts of the town.

Fr0stByt3 calls for more followers to his campaign. (5+2) Through some more persuasive work, he takes a dedicated section of the riled up crowd and convinces them to come with him and work for the cause. (+8 Activists)

Execute walks up to the one of the paintings displaying some sort of balcony. Instinctively, he places his hands on the painting and opens up a portal, where the other side is the painting brought to life, like a door to another world. There is the sound of buzzing insects and birds on the otherside, and the balcony itself is made of white stone, overlooking what sounds like an ocean. There is a table with red lining and two woven chairs on each side, just as the picture had portrayed.

Nanobones pulls back the bolt and fires a successive shot into Pikorge's car. (1 vs. 6) Nanobones isn't holding the rifle correctly this time around and he misses, the force of the recoil forcing him back, giving Pikorge another opportunity to run him over, albeit with one good arm. (7-3 vs. 9) Pikorge finally hurdles the whole car over the curb and lunges at Nanobones, who is able to combat roll to the side, into safety.

Lermfish disappears deep into the woodlands to live in a nature wonderland with animal friends. Later, he would be killed tragically by a stray nuclear missile. He leaves behind 3 wives and 10 children of varying species.

Immaterial returns to the games, this time donning the lavish outfit of an aristocratic Italian Renaissance figure. He looks around to at the sight of the battle but turns to the river to the northeast, where his two 'toys' have been delivered. They are prized ships, one modeled after a French military vessel, and another the relic of the early 18th century's days of sailing, more an antique. Both are a bit far, but reachable within a good two turns of steady movement.

News Report: The cloud of toxic gas spotted previously in Denmark, Wisconsin, is still on the move, though it will soon exit through the town's south side and will likely dissipate soon after that. Yet another disaster mars the town today as there are now reports of a wildfire on the Western portion of the town.

An unannounced week-long hiatus is not cool. If any of you are disappointed, that's fine; it's an unjustified amount of time to have to wait for a game that is supposed to be updated on a daily basis. What happened? I got sick, not anything serious but sick enough to leave me unable, or at least very unwilling to post a turn for a week. I am fine now, and while I can not promise that something like that will not happen again in the future, I will promise to put in the effort to keep you all updated on the situation.

Over the past few days there was a little fiasco as you can see in the previous posts. Whatever that was, it's all fine now. I don't think this thread was hijacked, no one will be punished, and this game will resume to its normal state. Thank you.

Immaterial appears on the scene with a scream that trails off as he realizes that he's not being gunned down by an airplane anymore. After a quick pat down to check his assets, he grins to himself. It's go time.
"The people of Denmark do not deserve to be brutalized by this annual atrocity! Hellfire? Mustard gas? And now a wild fire? These are good, decent people who are being killed just so a bunch of lunatics can get off on killing each other. No more, I say! This is America's' heartland, and it is under attack by maniac terrorists! Denmark must mobilize its police force, and call in the National Guard! Fellow citizens of Denmark!
