Very good chance my character is going to be an addict who's using to forget something horrible he did. Depending on how I roll, it may be him being one of the Otaku who caused the crash of '64, or something not as globally destroying.

I'll work on the details when I get a chance to sit down and do it

Thanks! I don't know if you're still intersted or not, but I think we can roll with 6 characters and still be manageable (unless you guys think its too many or you don't want in anymore)

Also, a few big questions:

will we all knw eachother prior due to other jobs, or will it be a new thing altogether? And what year? THe books latest year is I think 2075...

In my current mood I'd never be able to answer that. I'll think about it but consider it a no for now. I don't want to bog an otherwise good game down.

I'm pretty much a newbie to the setting, so expect plenty of newbie mistakes. :P

That said, I'm looking at a rigger character - vehicles, drones and ranged firesupport.

*edit* After a day of looking at the rulebooks and all the splatbooks, I've got the basics of the character down, but buying equipment is going to take a while. I should have a sheet available early next week.

One question - I assume we're building from a 400BP start?

I would like to play a techie, but it looks like we have enough of those. So badass gunslinger it is!

I don't know for sure now what I'm doing with my technomancer, but I'll figure it out. So many skills to choose from...

I also was given this by my buddy. Its a character builder for the edition we're using.

Just remember when making the characters, to go into tools --> options and select the books listed.

Oh, that's where you can select that. I'll give it another go Monday then.

What's it looking like for finalized characters? I'm quickly looking up on sprites and whatnot, and then I'll be able to get my gear all set up.

Also, in pretty sure since my character is having a safe house that can hold a few people in it, we should be good on that end (it's someone's hidden cellar)

And also, i forgot we needed and usually are supposed to go by aliases, but I revealed my name (not that it matters too much). My Alias will be Matrix Wolf (or just Wolf)

I'm swamped by the sheer amount of choices and books to go through, honestly. With so much selection I'm having trouble narrowing it all down into what I want/need. I'll definitely take another whack at it tomorrow, and should have something ready in a couple of days. Unless I change my mind at the last minute and make an entirely different character that is. That is certainly a thing that could happen.

I'm thinking of giving everyone a good amount of time to read the core rulebook, make a character with a backstory and a bit of extra time to go over the extra books, because there is WAYYYY too much info to process at once with most, if not all, of the people here never playing this before.

I'm not going to put down a deadline just yet. Hanzoku and I have a hard time because I'm playing probably the most complicated thing ever, and he has drones and stuff to worry about.

I'm also starting to think that having an extra techie in either rigger or decker or technomancer would be a good idea. Having only one guy in the matrix is pretty terrifying when you think about it, and there aren't a lot of vehicles that can hold 5 or more people (most are RVs or similar).

I'm still trying to figure out sprites myself... Also, for the GM, I decided that since I'm a SINer, and I have digital doppleganger, I'm going to pull a joke and say that the guy i'm swapped with for SINs is the name of my buddy in real life. Mostly to tell him "oh, btw, today I bought some drugs and guns under your name" :P The name is Andrew Hamilton (in my sheet, it will list as my actual name and the SIN I selected is my name as well, but Cody himself is marked as criminal, not Andrew)

I think it depends on what sort of campaign AbstractTraitorHero wants to run - the problem with riggers is that each of us is bringing more and more NPCs to the fight if they occur in range of drone support. I only ended up with three due to some probably newbie-ish choices in other areas, but if I had spent more of my resources I'd probably be able to bring a half-dozen LMG-toting drones to any given fight.

Currently we have people speaking up as technomancer, a rigger and a gun-user. There's still room for magic support (if we want to make the GM's mind explode dealing with ALL the rules at once.), social characters, stealthy characters, or any combination of traits.

True. And I'm thinking because we're new to this, we may end up having to use that safehouse I mentioned because we'll probably be running around and messing everything up.

I'm also pretty sure none of us are confirmed to be very stealthy. My character isn't, mostly due to the fact he's not designed to be in real life combat. Yeah, he carries a pair of pistols, but that won't mean much since he can barely use them properly
