I think I might put up an application. Are all normal biomes allowed?
Volcanos in an arctic wasteland is my Bione. You should be okay, I'd think

Civilization Name: Terrasang
Civilization Race: Moltenfolk
Race Description: The Moltenfolk are best described as half-earth elemental, and half biological organism; their skin is crusted with plates of (often half-molten) basalt and lava pulses through their body, but beneath the rock and around the lava is, in all fact, flesh. They are short and slow creatures, around four foot tall on average, but they make up for this by being rather sturdy and very dangerous when wounded; molten rock, after all, spurts from their wounds like blood. The most unique feature, perhaps, is the unique lands in which they live: They thrive in wastelands full of melted rock bubbling from the ground and fire, taking sustenance from the heat, but they have an exceptionally difficult time surviving elsewhere. Arctic climates would kill them very fast.

As for their civilization, it is something quite different from the ordinary society. Moltenfolk have individual sentience, but they all feel an innate connection to the pulse of the earth and the flow of magma, which helps guide them along... making the job of the government somewhat easier. Their leader is inevitably an individual most connected to the pulse of the earth's lifeblood, who constantly works and shifts with the magma to run the country, having very little life or even thoughts outside of this task. The leader doesn't do diplomacy.
Deity Name: Lifeblood of the Earth
Deity Description: Terrasang doesn't believe in a singular deity figure; instead, it sees divinity in the flow of molten rock. To them, it is the essence which beats at the heart of all Moltenfolk and in the ground, to them it is what runs the world and the primordial substance from which life arose. To the Moltenfolk, the Lifeblood of the Earth is everpresent and everguiding, a half-alive force rather than a god.
Deity Spheres: Fire, Earth, Life
Creation Myth: Terrasang has no complex and specific creation myth, but it is generally recognized that the earth is alive and that it has been alive forever... but that only recently has the earth crusted over with soil and plant, and from the repressed eddies and concentrations of life in the blood of the earth the Moltenfolk formed. It has no answer for the creation of other species; perhaps some other force exists for them that created them, perhaps they simply came from the crusting of the planet.
Starting Biome: Mountainous Start (Special: Lava, if possible)
Starting Tree: Religion
Specific Interest: A technology to change other terrains into a Lava terrain, which would explain having a "Lava" biome in the first place.

So much magic and religion in this world. Our technology turning the world into the wasteland it was in its youth should show you how powerful your spells and dieties really are.

The world of the youth was far more than ash and burnt soil. The world in its oldest state was the primordial pulse of magma and lava, a molten world where the life in the world's veins flowed freely and unconstrained. Ashes are a mere mockery.

Civilization Name: Masha Ren Mesha (aka The Lands of the People Who Watch)

Civilization Race: Mashakev (aka The Starbreathers)

Race Description: A dark-skinned people, thin and lanky, with no single definite form. They usually stand around six to seven feet tall, half-amorphous, shifting as they please with the constellations above. Two arms, two legs, and two in-between, their greatest activity is in the night, where they can see most easily. Nonetheless, the light sometimes brings good things, even if it is more comfortable to sleep through the hot day.

Deity Name: Kaduun

Deity Description: Kaduun. The Shroudbearer. Bringer of night, concealer of secrets. He who keeps harsh truths edges from cutting, who softens the pain of burning sun. Who, even in the heavens above, brings blankets of cloud overhead and lets down soft rains to feed our crops. To claim that the Shroudbearer has any form one can see clearly is foolishness; he is of shroud and mist.

Deity Spheres: Night, Beauty, Change

Creation Myth: The other gods made their mortals, and whispered to them to follow, to worship. Kaduun frowned at this. He did not like the plotting and scheming of the other gods. Secrets twisted into harsh things, privacy made dangerous to allow, vision clouded by darkness, rather than cleared by it. It made the god sad. So out of the sky, The Shroudbearer plucked pieces of shadow to give life, to be his own children. And when he had gathered up a hundred, a thousand, with the light of day peering through the shadow of night, with arms full, he grew tired. "One more shall I pluck," he said, "and that will be enough." But tired as he was, he could not pull carefully as he did the others, to take only a tiny patch. And the sky tore and tore, a huge gash letting light pour through. But Kaduun stopped himself before the whole piece could come off. "Ah, no!" he cried at his mistake. "Now the night will be bright as the day!"

But as he bemoaned the loss, he noticed that the flap of night did not stay open; it flapped about, covering and uncovering, and dimmed the light that come through even when it was not. Seeing that not all was lost, the Shroudbearer smiled, tired, and placed his new children upon the lands below, as the light of the stars their plucking had left behind shown down. Only one command did he leave them, and that more in hopes of their blossoming than in requirement. "Learn all the mysteries of this world," he said, "and create as many of your own." And then he left, climbing through the hole in the sky to watch his children from high above, happy simply to watch them grow, failing and rising again, learning from each mistake.

Starting Biome: Steppes and highlands(near rivers, of course)

Starting Tree: Science

Specific Interest: Bending the other tech trees to our will. The Gods themselves will know us, and the mysteries of the world will be revealed.

Civilization Name: The Kingdom of three peaks
Civilization Race: Hob-Goblins (Greater Goblins)
Race Description: Unlike there diminutive lesser cousins Hob-Goblins are a lesser known variety of your standard mountain goblin but a far more dangerous variety. Having two things that there cousins the goblins lack courage and intelligence. While a hob-goblin is similar in stature to that of a normal mountain goblin standing a head taller then that of a human and only half a head taller then your average dwarf they are capable of impressive feats of physicality. Capable of matching a humans speed and a dwarves stamina hob goblins are more then capable of holding there own in a fight against most normal races. Though they could never hope too match the pure un controlled strength of an ork or the speed and skill of an elf a hob goblin can hold there own in most fights
Deity Name: The Father
Deity Description: The father is an elderly human male. Hardly even a God actually he is simply a powerful mage that through years of research and study has managed to grant himself immortality. After that accomplishment he began to travel the known world helping people where he could and just trying to do his part. As he traveled through the Jagged tooth mountains though the Father for the first time in his life encountered the mountain goblin. He felt nothing but sorrow for the small creatures destined to live out there pitiful lives trying to find meager subsistence in the harsh mountain ranges. In his pity for these creatures he used a great deal of his magical energies to create a new breed of goblin the hob-goblin a stronger, smarter, and more refined version of there goblin predecessors meant to lead them into a new age an age of proper civilization rather then there small tribes.
Deity Spheres: Charity, Order, and civilization
Creation Myth: (Crap did that in deity description)
Starting Biome: (Foothills and mountains)
Starting Tree: (Science)
Specific Interest: Architecture and construction

I need to find a way get the full sized image uploaded, as of right now I'm stuck using this size which makes EVERYTHING hard to see. For now however, we must deal with it. Starting situations will come out soon and I'll make an IC. This will become the OOC.

Plan on starting sometime tomorrow. Until then, does anyone have any questions about things?

Am I the Magenta-ish purple color, then?

I couldn't tell if I was the far south or not at first.

We have three of each tech tree, which seems pretty cool.

Are we going to be doing simultaneous turns or turns in order?

I'm definitely a ways away from everyone else. I think the map is a tad big, personally. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though, I'd not want to mess up this game.

Yes I believe you are. Simultaneous turns is what I planned on doing. Ordered turns takes such a long long time.

Yeah you are a bit, but most people requested jungles and mountains, which are by the equator, while you requested icy mountains (I only had one set of ice mountains on the map). The map is a bit large, I totally agree, but I expect that large sections of it wont be used.

For the 3 hexes to go to war with someone/something taking up all your actions, and dice used for that, I would agree. But it's freeform, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal. We'll come to accords OOC, as to what would make a good story and way of the world developing, rather than trying to just 'win', after all, right everyone?

I mean, sometimes that involves a civilization dominating or being ground into the dust for a while, but still.

Okay, that's understood, and yes, we should make an awesome story, nonetheless. In regards to civilizations, I'm this land's Uruk Hai, living in the cold Mordor of the South.
