Yes the offer always there until you awaken because OCC knowledge: Butcher tried it and her powers went completely haywire until the drug burned out, thus Zoey won't give the pill to any awaken girl.

Also, it only painful since a magic girl is resistance to her own magic E.G. Erika was fine, but the desk is a pizza now.

In this verse, no, but most magic girls develop a mask to separate their sides. E.G. Shy bookworm, no nonsense mecha magic girl.
