Unwanted smelt jobs appearing
« on: September 09, 2015, 11:05:59 pm »

Hey folks,

After a long hiatus I'm back into DF... hard. I'm seeing something that hasn't happened to me before, wondering if someone can shed some light on it. Right now I have "smelt magnetite ore" jobs showing up in my jobs list seemingly at random. The number fluctuates from between 1 and 9 units (of the jobs that I've seen and canceled). Are these jobs automatically created from a stockpile somehow or something?

Sorry if this is a repeat. I did some searching but couldn't find anything referring to this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Are using the manager or any sort of autolabor plugin?

No, no autolabour plugins. The only third party app I'm running is Dwarf Therapist.

Are you using the Lazy Newb Pack (which includes DFHack by default, along with any number of custom plugins/scripts enabled by default)?

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Few (if any) DFHack features are enabled by default by LNP, and definitely not auto labor, workflow, or the like. It is, however, possible to accidentally enable some while looking at the DFHack tab.
Thus, I'd take a look at the DFHack tab of PyLNP to verify that none of Workflow, Other Automation plugins, or Automatic Job Assignments are marked in green. My guess based on the symptoms is that the Other Automation plugins has been enabled (although I've never used that one, nor do I know what it does).
You could also disable DFHack from this tab and see if the problem disappears while playing (which I suspect it does).

Yep, good call guys. I didn't even realize there was a DFHack tab having never needed to use that plugin before. I'm not sure what the problem was but disabling DFHack solved the problem so I'm happy.

Much appreciated!

Now to perfect my pit of undead horrors for the next goblin siege... :)
