POKEEMANGS Nuzlocke Challenge: PokeWrestle edition
« on: September 09, 2015, 07:42:19 pm »

Yup, this be a Nuzlocke alright.  I got the idea from watching ProJared's old Nuzlockes, but I can't get emulators to work for shit.(a PM would be appreciated if anyone can help in that regard)
Instead of screenshots or video, I can always draw what I need, right?
...right?

Spoiler: skillz (click to show/hide)

...right.  As an added note, this will be semi-blind, as I haven't played in YEEEEEEEEEARS and don't remember much of anything past the 1st gym leader.
The rules will be as follows:
1.  I may only catch the first pokeemang I see along a specific route.  If it faints, tough luck!  However, if I already have caught that pokeemang in a different route, I may catch the first other pokemon I see.
2.  All pokeemangs must be named.  Depending on interest, I might name them after you guys!  In any other case though, I'll name them after Wrestlers.
3.  If a pokeemang faints, it is DEAD AND CANNOT BE USED.  However, in the interests of having a graveyard to look at, I'll put them in a box like some horrific taxidermy museum.
4.  I must listen to hype musics while playing, which gives a  +1 modifier to willpower.  I will say the track I'm listening to at the beginning of each part.

In any case, let us begin our adventure!
...in a bit.

First things first, I put on some Kickstart my Heart
After which, I delete my ancient save data(which is pretty awkward on a 3DS) and I decline the tutorial offered by the esteemed professor mustache, accurately depicted here:

Eventually, he asks the ever important question: Are you a man or a MACHO MAN?!  And ladies and gentlemen, we are by every definition a MACHO MAN.

And for our rival, why not make him Ric Flair himself?

Now that introductions are finished, we can truly begin our adventure!

Starting in our office, we head down-stairs to our mother who tells us that Ric had dropped by earlier, no doubt to challenge us to a nighttime Hell in a Cell match.
However, Ric plays dirty and the second we open the door to his office he clotheslines us and prances off to the lakeside.
We quickly catch up to him but before we can take him down we find an old man chatting with a smoking hot babe 13 year old (you sicko)  They quickly flee the scandalous scene, but not before leaving behind a briefcase full of pokeemang balls.  While we are trying to take the briefcase in order to put it hanging above a ring where it belongs, we are ambushed by pidgeons and quickly realize that our wrestling skills are no match for wild animals, so we look into the briefcase and see what our options are:

Turtwig, a grass-type pokeemang, Chimchar, a fire-type pokeemang, or Piplup, a water-type pokeemang.

After contemplating which might look the coolest fully evolved, I chose Turtwig, and after a moment he KO's the bird!  The first victory of many to come.  It turns out Ric chose the Chimchar, desperately trying to get any edge he can get on me.  After the match, the girl returned and saw that we had used the pokeemangs from the professor's briefcase.  Apparently that was "not good" and was probably thinking about getting the pokeemang back before realizing that running away with the briefcase was a much better option.  Ric's pussy ass pokeemang got itself hurt during the match and we decided to head back home.  We were interrupted by the professor, who after looking at the pokeemangs we had used, hurried back to his lab with the girl in tow.

Finally, we reach our homes and fall asleep as the first day of our journey ends, and with it, the first part of this playthrough.
Tune in tomorrow for the next step in our exciting wrestleventure!

You have no idea how much I already love this.

Edit: Name ideas, sorry if they are obvious. You have to name the first rock type you get Stone Cold, and the first Psychic type HHH (he is the Cerebral Assassin, after all :p).

My only suggestion would be dialogue. Everybody loves it. Intermix with wackiness, and you have something magical about to happen.

Thanks for the suggestions!  And yeah, I'll need some help with naming, since I wasn't exactly ALIVE when most of the classics happened.

As for today, our music is Danger Zone
We start by grabbing our brand-name sneakers and head off towards the next town to see if there are any PPVs for us to do there.  On the way, we encounter some untrained, wild pokemon that go down easier than a bantamweight verses a welterweight.  As we reach the town, the professor's aide comes to bring us to meet him for an autograph and maybe a contract.  Before we can enter the building, Ric Flair kicks down the door with a cocky grin.

"Woooo!  Hey there big man, that professor already signed me up so don't even bother!  I am outta here!  Woooo!"

After seeing him run off, the girl brings us inside to talk to the professor.

"Ah, there you are.  May I see your pokemon?   ...Hmm, yes... right then!  I'll give that Turtwig to you as a gift.  Now that it's yours, would you like to give it a nickna--"

"The ULTIMATE WARRIOR, because I can feel that this thing is the greatest wrestling machine known to man."

"Er, well that pokemon is only a starter that requires intense training, and you might as well find stronger pokemon to ca--"

"Are you telling me that you didn't give Macho Man the best pokemon you damn well could?  You'd better grow eyes in the back of your head cause Macho Man is going to catch the cream of the crop; the top tier pokemon and when he does oooh yeah, he's comin' back for you!"

After storming out, not before the professor threw us a pokedex, we knock out that 14 year old with a swift jab on our way to the pokemart to buy as many pokeballs as we can.  We buy 10 of the things before heading back to route 201 to catch us a super strength pokemon.  Unfortunately, it appears that all the good pokemon had already been caught by other pokewrestlers, and all we could find was a Starly(which is apparently normal/flying instead of just flying like I thought), which we name Kalisto.

(it was actually a little harrowing to catch, and it was one tackle away from death when I captured it.)

We take it back to town and heal up, meanwhile bringing Ultimate Warrior up to level 7, before heading to the next route (and decking that girl before she can try and teach us how to catch a pokemon) to add a new fighter to our roster.  Before we can find a new pokemon, we get challenged by our first Pokewrestler!  "Youngster Tristan you are going DOWN!  Oooh yeah!"
He brings out a Starly of his own, but Ultimate Warrior easily handles it and nets us our first win, and although the payouts are something you'd see at a state fair it gave us a boost of confidence that will carry us to the end!
That confidence gave us just the thing to catch our next pokemon, a Shinx, which we name Goldust.

...and that is where I'll leave off for today, now that we have 2 more pokemon in our roster we'll need to train up to face any challengers!

There's a grand total of 1 Pokémoneemang that's Flying and Flying-type only, and that Pokeemang is from Black and White [2].

I can give you all sorts of name ideas (grew up during the Attitude/NWO era, but I was more of a WWF guy). I dunno how likely it is you'll get any of these, but here's a few.

A Hawlucha: Rey Mysterio (Flying/Fighting type)
A Scrafty or Pangoro: Undertaker ('cause Dark/Fighting type makes sense for him)
Litwick or Houndour: Kane (Ghost/Fire and Dark/Fire sounds right to me)
Toxicroak or any Poison type: Great Muta (poison spit and all that)
A Snorlax: Either Andre or Big Show for preference
A Poliwrath: Eddy Guerrero ('cause Frog Splash >.>)
An Onyx: Scotty 2 Hotty (because of his 'The Worm' finisher)
A Stunfisk: Rocky Miavia (because The Rock usually called himself the most electrifying superstar, so Electric/Ground sounds right to me)
Any Grass type: Rob Van Dam (because RVD smokes a lot of grass IYKWIM >.>)
Any Dragon type: Ricky Steamboat

That's enough for now, I think. I mean, I have more, I just want to not dominate the naming scheme here. :P

Oh well. I'm really only familiar with first gen (I kinda played the later games, but I played the hell out of Red) so I was just looking for appropriate types to match up a number of wrestlers I could name off-hand. On that note, I'm surprised he didn't name the Turtwig Hulk Hogan so we could have the Mega Powers.

Actually, if Arceus holds a Sky Plate, he is a pure Flying type. The other one is Tornadus, I believe.

Starly's is actually one of the few starter-area pokemon that are actually worth it.

Mega evolution is in 6th generation. I think Hulk Hogan could work on turtwig. On the theme of wrestlers, I'm shocked he didn't pick chimchar, because it's wukong, the monkey King.

And we know the king should be called Booker T... (Did I spell it right? I don't know...)

I could see Toxicroak happening if he gets lucky in the Safari Zone and an Onyx might actually be likely, if my memories of the coal mine are anything to go by, but the rest of those are difficult to get your hands on by Nuzlocke standards or don't exist yet. :v

No update today, since I spent it doing schoolwork ALSO THIS

I am not good at drawing.  Especially since Goldust is bald and Shinx is basically just hair.
