I have ten dollars!
Certainly won't be buying any drinks, but at least I won't miss out on the thing I wanted to go to after months of anticipation after all.
Grats!
Thanks! It was pretty great.

Tomodachi Life
Such a great game.
Pretty sure the only other 3DS game I've sunk anywhere near as much time into is Animal Crossing. Great fun.

It is a fun little time-waster, isn't it?

Two parcel's I've been waiting for arrived today!
And both senders threw in some free stuff on top of what I bought, too. Nice!

I have it! I have Fallout 4!
The trip into the city wasn't even as anxiety-ridden and unpleasant as I expected. I was feeling kind of anxious to start with, but then I got my shit together and actually had a rather nice, if brief, outing. Also I price-matched the game without feeling like a dumbass, which was a surprise.

Now to get stuck straight into it- I have 'work' tomorrow and as such can't stay up too late.

Have you considered getting a blog or something, Yoink? :P

Y'could also start a thread in Life Advice. Strife and I think others (?) have had some success in that area.

Bought myself a decent supply of (half-priced!) Shapes biscuits and iced coffee!
Now to wait for my most-hated housemate to stop blabbering on in the main area of the house, then it's time for some serious gaming.

(I didn't double post this time. So there.

I guess the problem is that there's no steady flow of posts here, so this thread gets less attention...

My happy: I'll start my yearly Stollenaktion today. Rolling out several kilos of marzipane into thin sheets, here I come!

I have never even heard of Stollenaktion, but I'm guessing it's tasty? To Google!
Edit: NONE OF THESE WORDS ARE WORDS THAT I CAN READ. Now I must know what it is.

Its a german edible construct that may sometimes resemble a panetonne (I think, with all the crystalized fruits that are sometimes crammed into it), altough it is very different.

It's a kind of fruity cakey bready baked good isn't it? IIRC Helgo or Sheb mentioned them last year. Probably Helgo, considering.

Yeah, probably me. It's an annual thing: I bake a two-digit number of those things and then distribute them among my friends and aquaintances. Since that usually takes two or three days of constant baking, nicknaming it the Stollenaktion seemed appropriate. Maybe I should switch to Stollenkampagne though...

I do not know how to bake stollen, but anybody who has access to an ALDI grocery store has access to these marvelous cakes every winter (or whatever, I don't know how seasonal items work in the Southern Hemisphere). Probably not as good as homemade ones, but quite good nevertheless - a bready sort of cake with dried fruit, almonds, and marzipan inside and a coating of powdered sugar.

and it makes a superb french toast

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Depending, we either go with Northern Hemisphere seasonal items or go our own way. Never seen stollen in the shops, though.
