Swim 1: This monster is capable of swimming.
Engulf 1: This monster can engulf a single enemy equal or lesser size per fight. This does 2 damage per turn and has a 50% for the enemy to escape per turn. Enemy is stunned for the duration.
Treasure find 1: This monster will occasionally notice extra loot or interesting things.
Fire Breath 1: Once per fight this monster can do a breath attack which does half it's attack damage as fire damage to all enemies at melee range.
Upgrade 1: This monster can be upgraded with items and weapons. Takes one turn. Cannot be done while in the field. Has 1 upgrade slot.
Fly 1: This monster can fly. It can move into melee range and attack once per fight.
Flash 1: This monster can emit a bright flash with a 25% chance to blind each enemy.
Anti-breath: This ability nullifies the next breath based attack made by the enemy. Usable repeatably, but you cannot attack on the same turn you prepare it.
Swarm 1: This monster's size and attack correlate to its health. At half health it's attack is halved. Increases evasion.
Venom 1: Each melee attack has a 50% chance to inflict the envenomed debuff. This does 2d1 damage per turn for two turns.
When used in non-combat situations, there could be creative uses of these abilities (like using fire breath to start a campfire), don't be afraid to try to use your monster's to the most of their abilities.
