Just wondering if anyone is excited about this game. It is the first English release in years and I picked it up on a whim. It is available on PS3 and PS4 as well as Steam (PC). I picked it up at Steam.
If you buy it within the first week, you get a discount and some extra DLC (scenarios).
Here is Steam link: [

I am having a blast with it so far. I started playing Nobunaga's Ambition II on dosbox a year or two ago (I never played the NES SNES versions, although I was aware of them. So I was psyched to see a shiny new version that fixes some of those out of date UI issues I had.
Synopsis: You can choose to play a clan in feudal Japan. You can choose from famous ones like Oda, Uesugi, Takeda, Date, Mori, Imagawa, etc, they got 'em all. Or you can create your own (I have not done this yet; I am a purist - Oda all the way). The game from what another reviewer has stated sits between Civilization and Europa Universalis in terms of complexity. I would tend to agree so far. There is a lot of strategic elements like how to run your clan, but you also have a battle system. Some negative reviewers have called it simplistic, but it's not gonna be Total War. And total war is not 100% accurate. During this era, there were Samurai who employed yari on both foot and horseback. And there were Ashigaru - common foot soldiers - who employed bows (yumi), arquebuses (teppo), and nagae yari, which were long spears. That was it, but this was an interesting time in history and this game has so far scratched those itches.
Has anyone bought it? Anyone interested? Thoughts?
For me I'm playing on PC on difficulty level normal. This is my third attempt. I'm doing quite well in 1554 Dec, 3+ years into my scenario.
Things that I like: diplomacy system, building system, being able to lure disaffected samurai from other clans to yours when they defect or sabotage the enemy, the battle system (others have critiqued it as I have said, but I like it
so far).
Any way let me know what you think!
