Background = Amelia was one of the last generations born aboard the Neo Kyoto, taking after her parents in their profession (mother was a security trainer, father was a doctor). Born prematurely, her eyesight was more prone to the many affects within the colony-ship than most, and suffered due to the prevalence of artificial light over natural sunlight. Despite this, she was a healthy baby girl, whom her parents' upbringing ensured full development: they colored her understanding of the world (or rather, everyone aboard the ship), forming an aptitude towards the betterment of humanity--and the ability to handle those who decided otherwise. She was a bookworm, and adored history and tradition, reflecting her love of knowledge with its application, albeit due to poor social skills and a not-that-happy childhood; this did not deter her, however, from shaping herself to the 'best' her parents guided her to understand, insomuch that she could have chosen an aptitude within the medical field of psychology and performed just as well.

She also has a fear of needles--specifically syringes (of an ancient time), rather than knitting or sewing needles.

Amelia stood in lax attention as she overheard the Captain give the briefing, before letting impressions take place by the words of those around her.

"Is our team-purpose based on a general trait you've noticed in each of us, sir? I have no questions otherwise."

"Not a trait absolute every one of you shares, no. Some of you are the best at what you do. Some of you are deemed "Unemployable." Some of you would have been deemed as such 20 or 30 years ago. I suspect that not all of you will be completely loyal, but that's alright. Each team has someone who will and I suspect they'll keep you in line. In any case, I want you all to remember that the colony's best interests are your best interests, and vice versa. Now, if there are no other questions?"

"No further questions."

"Bah. Let's get goin'. I wanna hear what we've gotta do 'fore I take my nap."

The old man huffs as he lowers himself into a chair. He sighs when he finally lets himself plop down, grumbling to himself as he recovers.
"Bloody things get lower every year; cryin' shame, it is, makin' a venerable member of the community work just to set himself down after..."
Already difficult to hear, it fades away into unintelligible complaining as he adjusts in the seat.

[Sorry, disappeared for a week because of personal anxiety]

Amelia noticed herself analyzing the old man. He was important, as the Captain mentioned, but she was pretty intrigued on why there was an absence of courtesy of rank present. Or, her upbringing was nudging the idea in place on authority and on manners.

Which gave her a thought.

"Actually one question--we have no designated leader. Are we free to decide amongst ourselves on how we handle this, Captain?"

"Indeed. I trust you'll be able to figure out how to decide things as a group. Now, since it seems there are no further questions, I'll let you all get acquainted with your group members for a little while. You'll recieve orders within the next hour. Dismissed."

[Twinwolf]

"Yessir, captain." Ami says, before turning to the group. "I'm pretty sure I know a couple of you, but for those I don't, I'm Ami Senishuro, Deputy-Chief Engineer. Nice to meet you."

[Aseaheru]

"Everett Owen. Dont touch my suit if you can help it, it may shock you. _{Gotta get those capacitors replaced still... I think that the command suits have the right ones...}"

"Yeah yeah and I'm the duke of the ringside engine deck. I've been here longer 'n any of you lot and if you don't know who I am I don't see why the Captain even let you into this room. But if their judgement has been blasted out the airlocks 'fore we set down, then call me Sir. Heh. Or Mallerney, I guess, don't really matter which way anyhow. Now, what's they wantin' us to do?"

He tries to pull himself out of his chair, huffing. He fails a couple of times before muttering to himself, twisting to try and get up by supporting himself on the armrest. He mutters to himself as he does so, face contorted in exertion.

"Oh, please, don't bother to help an old man up, I'll just sit here and rot."

[Twinwolf]

"Nah, the rot's too scared to try, you'd just complain about it and nothing else would happen." Ami says, extending a hand to help him up.
