You can give him a funeral pyre using camp fires or setting fire to the squares around him. Lay his arms and armor on him before starting the fire. If you do it in an area where you'll never sleep, or maybe an abandoned house, the fires will never go out. Also this way that steel great axe will always be his.

I do this for companions who serve long then fall in battle. Good RP for the human or dwarf. An elf I can only see freaking out because, well, you know, it's fire, enemy of plants.

Thanks for the tip :D. And the death was hilarious. The angel just striked me in the neck and my spine was broken and becouse of that my weapon and shield were useless but it couldn't happen if i would wait for my undead allies :D And I hope Lesno will remember me becouse I killed one of her main angels and the main angel was funny becouse it was a giant snail with crystal glass skin XD

Set fire to the squares around him instead of a campfire and his corpse will incinerate, leaving only his arms and armour behind - his ashes scattered to the winds.

Thanks for this! A related question is can you set fire to buildings? I vaguely remember it was no, but trees yes.

Constructions no, but trees yes. I suppose this could change what with gravity taking into account construction material, soon temperature will do the same.

Hmmm, I bet I could get a building to burn with gm-editor, but not easily, and it might have... horrific side effects *shudders at the memory of the beewagon* plus possible instability.

As for an object, corpses are objects. View the item and use this, actually I'm gonna clean this up a little now that I think about it, I know how to do this differently.
Code: (firestarter.lua) [Select]
local tinder
        if dfhack.gui.getCurFocus() == 'item' then
            tinder=dfhack.gui.getCurViewscreen().item
            tinder.flags.on_fire=true
        elseif dfhack.gui.getSelectedUnit(true) then
            tinder=dfhack.gui.getSelectedUnit(true).inventory
                    for k,v in ipairs(tinder) do
                            tinder[k].item.flags.on_fire=true
                    end
         elseif df.global.ui_advmode.menu==1 then
            local curpos=df.global.cursor
            df.global.world.fires:insert('#',{new=df.fire})
            local hot = df.global.world.fires
            for _,k in ipairs(hot) do
              if k.temperature==0 then
               local spot = k
                    k.pos.x=curpos.x
                    k.pos.y=curpos.y
                    k.pos.z=curpos.z
                    k.timer=1000
                    k.temperature=60000
                    end
            end
    end

Edited with a better version, will still set directly viewed items on fire, with the bonus of setting the entire inventory of a unit you're viewing on fire. :D

Oh Armok, well, you CAN set walls and stuff on fire, but they don't do anything besides get hot as far as I can tell.

You can also set the air on fire, so, I am become death, destroyer of worlds.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

My deepest condolences. Losing great characters sucks.

I've had characters I spend more than a week playing like every night, only for them to die in super unfair ways.
