Slice into the lizard creatures with my clawed-like hands while they're occupied with regaining their balance.
You swipe at first one, then another, of the shadowlings, slicing right though one, which sort of dissipates into a whirling puff, and getting a firm grip on the other, which you lift high before tearing it apart. Two of the remaining manage to regain their footing, and leap to the offensive, swirling into you and enveloping you in a thick, inky smoke. Before your vision is obscured you see one more standing precariously, and the fate of the others is unknown to you. As your vision darkens, you hear a high pitched squeal rising sharply from all sides, and your already tattered canopy begins to be pulled and tugged and clawed. You feel it begin to tear.

Teach him to give me lip with a solid punch to the teeth!
As blood runs down your arm, you fight back a wave of lightheadedness and attack. Leaping forward, you execute a series of rapid one-two punches, the first connecting very solidly to the long, narrow jaw of the horselizard, in part due to it misjudging your advance and charging into your metal fists. You break it's momentum, snapping it's gaping mouth shut with a loud snap! and begin laying blows onto it's head and shoulders ass it staggers back.

Roll off of Cuddles, get to my feet/paws and flail some more at my assailant.
You manage to shift the combat away from where you think The squeak came from, and continue to grapple the featherbear. You gain a bit of an advantage, but neither of you land a solid blow. You begin to notice an unpleasant odor though, and your vision goes hazy and greenish. Featherbear seems to be coughing a bit, too.

If still alive, run away, hide somewhere, and lick my wounds.
you lie there, twitching and spazming. ... and not dying just yet.

I'm gonna have to invest in a black die one of these days.

Get the on the horse-thing's back, cover its eyes with my hands, and try to steer it into the Featherbear.

Time for a change of tactics.
Dance gracefully around behind the featherbeast and strike the back of its neck with a claw-strike.

Get the on the horse-thing's back, cover its eyes with my hands, and try to steer it into the Featherbear.
And you were doing so well pummeling it. oh well, let's see what happens.

Satisfied with your combat, you attempt to swing around and leap onto the thing's back, only to be kicked in the chest as you dart to the side. You go flying backward over a nearby bench and are severely winded. You are a little too sore to be aware of what the horselizard is doing now. And your arm is starting to throb and feels weak.

Repeat previous action.
Don't make me hunt down previous actions, or I will start taking your "repeat previous action" requests literally ...
you lie there, twitching and spazming. ... and not dying just yet.
In this case, your previous attempted action was easy enough to find:
If still alive, run away, hide somewhere, and lick my wounds.
So let's try that. Hhnnngh. Same results. Still lying there twitching and spasming.
...
Well, two bears did just fall on you, after all.

Time for a change of tactics.
Dance gracefully around behind the featherbeast and strike the back of its neck with a claw-strike.
Okay ... you are grappling the thing, on the floor, so this attempted reversal is more a wrestling move than a dance thing. So let's see ... you manage to break the featherbear's hold and get it kinda sideway to you, with our forelegs wrapped a bit around it's torso, one of it's forelegs kinda up over your head, and the other partially pinned on it's other side. Not quite a good position to strike at the neck from, but you can claw it a bit on the torso. Unfortunately attempting to claw it loosens your grip on its arm, and it gets it's pinned arm free, which it then brings around and swipes hard across your face. Your snout feels like it's burning! Fortunately, the Featherbear starts coughing violently again, and it slips. You find yourself on top of it and it's other arm is now fully pinned below it.

Scramble away from the smoke.
You turn to hop away and collide with ... something, losing your footing and tumbling down the debris pile, still covered in screaming smoke. Another scream joins the sound of the smoke, and you are starting to lose focus, that incessant screaming boring into your brain, or whatever thought center you have.

((Sorry, I was pretty damn busy for a bit. Flying home and what-not.))

Lift up my bulk, then, if I can, tear its throat out.
If I can't get a good enough angle to claw its throat, elbow-drop on its face instead.

((No hurries, no worries. When you can't or don't post for whatever reason, I'll wait. I'm kinda a slow updater anyway.))

Hunker down at the bench and try to recollect myself.
You duck down behind the bench and flip it up on it's side so it stands vertically between you and your opponent, recovering your breath pretty quickly, but still disoriented and light headed from the blood loss. Your arm is becoming unusable, but you can still hold it in front of you in defense. Your opponent doesn't seem to be fairing much better - You hear some thrashing about over there, but there is no impact against your makeshift shield.

Run, hide, heal.
You awaken, and your everything hurts. In blind panic, you stagger up, dash across the room, and climb the nearest vertical surface you find. It's oddly mobile, and has a nasty smoke clinging to it, which smells horrible and makes you want to hack up hairballs. And then your perch tumbles sideways and sends you rolling. As you come to a rest, that horrible screeching you experienced before arises again, but you resist, by virtue of having your head knocked about a bit anyway, and being to dazed to even hear it.

((Oh, sorry, didn't notice the update.))

Blindly whip my tongue at the attacking creatures and slash at anything that I touch that isn't the floor.
whipping your tongue around manages to clear some o the smoke from in front of your eye, and you can see or a few moments. You can't see the creatures that are on you ... wait ... the creatures are the smoke. Of course! you are fighting a cloud of sonic smoke. Typical. You do see a couple other of the shadow things, still in lizard form, but before you can react to them, you are clawed repeatedly up your handle and lash out, missing completely and losing your footing. Timber!!!! Well, at least the sonic barrage seems disrupted and discordant for a moment.

((Sorry, I was pretty damn busy for a bit. Flying home and what-not. no worries. I didn't know you had gone on a trip or anything. Either way, I hope it was a good one.))

Lift up my bulk, then, if I can, tear its throat out.
If I can't get a good enough angle to claw its throat, elbow-drop on its face instead.

You struggle for a few moments and find yourself in a better position, though the featherbear get's it's arm free in the process. It's putting up quite a fight, but you somehow manage to keep the upper hand, though you weren't able to bring either your claws, nor your more practical throat tearing weapon - your jaws - to bear on it's throat. You do get a minor bite on it's shoulder, and feathers fly.
