Pick up the Kea with one of my hands and sit down to get my bearings.
okay, let me roll this. (1-1) You stagger dizzily, stomping on the Kea in the process. Lemme roll endurance (Crush resistance) for the Kea. (1[5]) even with the bonus, you fail this. Add the fact that the umbrella is heavily booted and we have our first fatality. This was totally unexpected.
Suddenly, you are lifted into the air by mechanical arms, and passed from pair to pair, into a long hallway, where one pair carries you at speed until you ind yourself tossed unceremoniously into a dark room. A moment later, the light in the room adjusts to a comfortable level, and you find that you can see only a short distance, as into fog, where images flicker half-formed. There is something appealing about these images. ...
Counterattack when attacked
Sorry, but a dizzy, disoriented, heavily booted umbrella just stomped your fragile little head. Accidentally. With good intentions and everything. you are dead.
Observe the Kea from my "sock." Lick my lips as I watch it.
Okay. You do this. It gets stepped on wit a sickening crunch, and a moment later, after the thing that stepped on it is lifted away, a mechanical arm appears from a slot in the floor and hauls the corpse away. Aww, no snack for you.
Look at the count down then.
oh, that's what you meant by counter. You look up into the air above the pillar and notice that the count down is gone. It has been replaced by several images. One is greyed out, but you note five figures in it. The other is split oddly: There are, at first, two bubbles, one in which the silhouettes of a bird figure, a person, a cat and what you assume is an umbrella stand idly, drifting toward and away from the other bubble occasionally. More on this bubble in a minute.
The other bubble shows a massive figure and a human. They are facing each other, paws and fists raised. as you watch, they approach one another and sort of wiggle or vibrate or something.
Okay, back to the first bubble. As you watch, this one splits also, with the bird and the umbrella forming another bubble, then the umbrella rapidly approaches the bird and expands, while the bird blackens and then fades out into a sort of cloud of particles. the umbrella takes on a greenish glow, before this bubble disappears. The human and kitten bubble remains as before.
Pick up a Heavy Slugger from the counter and shoot the bear!
Note how the sluggers do bonus damage when close up. (or is it less damage when further away? I dunno.)
Will roll first for disorienting noise and dizziness from hitting the wall.(4{5}) Okay, the curly brackets indicate a negative roll, since you have a 4 or will. Since it was a 5, no negative is applied. A 1 or 2 would have applied. You stand, and begin searching for a hand cannon (3{1}) you don't see any nearby, just a wall of melee weapons and a few bows. You grab up a crossbow and try to fit a bolt into it. The bear gives you little time to complete this though, and, on hind legs, rotates around with it's nose held high, then wings down at you. You jump back reflexively, but get caught by the blow a little. Even a little hurts, but you maintain your balance, and somehow manage to keep hold of both yor weaon
and ammo (1 shot).
Gracefully tiptoe up behind the human who attacked me, ballerina-style, twirl a pirouette and then lay the smackdown whilst he's distracted searching for a weapon.
you dance your way over to the guy, while he runs to a table holding some sticks and stuff. (1(5) v 1(4)) you execute a poor swing at the man, but, distracted with his stick, he fails to dodge in time. He moves enough to soften the blow, (5[6]) and staggers back, large stick in one hand, smaller one in the other.
