Remember your fellow players are doing their best, at least in my opinion, to play their nation-state concepts to the truest they can conceive of em (ie the Galaran Union is not a pragmatic land grabbing nation, but something that is more representative towards a progressive society and their 'attacks' can easily be dissuaded based on the context or flavor of others' interpreted actions [ie The Domain is a fanatical people; and they wish them to not totally-destroy other nations...])

Err...tl;dr: Keep playing mate. Or let your brother in. I'd like to play with you in the future! (Also...as an aside, if you'd like life tips, I can give em--just like anyone else here, if you feel down or inadequate or stuff.)

Whilst we're on the machanics queries, is there any effect from encirclement? Do surrounded armies surrender after a few turns, get a negative combat modifier or something?
