Minecart Barons (rev 2)
Fortress: Easttrail (Emkalan)
Group: The Golden West Spikes (Limulsitalthocit)
Submitted by: Mr Sanctume (Clan Family request pending).
(report status: Submitted) The Design Planentry batch 1Preliminary Narative: Explorers of the western fronteir
I am Mr Pickaxe Combralance who wants to explore the western frontier.
I am a proficient miner and retained some of my militia training in dodging and discipline.
I met Ms Minealum Channelrot in the militia as we have the same profession, and in the same militia class training.
There was a notice from Forii, Mr Sanctume Febod needing seven citizens volunteer to stake out an outpost to the west to determine viable plans for expanding the tracks westward.
I volunteered to head the security of the expedition, and have not come up with the group's name when our ranks began filling up.
"Hello, Ms Minealum. I am not surprised that you sign up for this expedition."
Ms Minealum smiled, "I think it's a great opportunity, Mr... Pike, is it?"
"It's Mr Pickaxe. But please, call me Gise," I corrected and offered my hand.
"A pleasure. I'm Cattenesis, but I don't want to be called Cat, or Catte, or Catten. So please call me Nesi," she beamed and shook my hands.
"The plan is to depart at dawn on the morrow and I expect the rest of the volunteers to show up soon."
--
Five citizens of no particular skills show up:
Mr Slabpack "Arze" declares to have interest in masonry and has a knack for organizing.
Mr Woodaxe "Zefo" has an eerie affinity to wood, albeit he does not look nor smell like an elf.
Ms Milkbrew "Isan" likes animals of all sorts, claims to be the best brewer of her family, and has an affinity to aid those who are sick.
Ms Quinoa "Akil" smells of wet grass. She fidgets often and always seem to search the horizon. She says she just enjoys nature and curious about plants.
Ms Stonechef "Fon" likes working with stones, and says to have a mechanics's touch, and do well with numbers.
"Well, everyone is here before noon and I can feel your excitement. We can definitely leave at dawn once we obtain some supplies from the Forii.
I secured a steel anvil and copper pick.
Nesi has her copper pick.
I asked Arze if he can negotiate for us to secure 2 suits of leather armor, 2 leather helms, 2 leather gloves, 2 leather high boots, 2 leather trousers, and 2 leather shirts.
Arze mentioned "turkey leather" with Zefo, and their discussion continued outside towards the Quartermaster.
Ms Milkbrew, I mean Isan loaded the wagon with 6 turkey gobblers, 6 turkey hens, and a tom cat.
A yak bull and a yak cow are grazing nearby and looks to be the animals of burden to pull our wagon.
"Is that it?" I asked.
Isan grins, "of course not! I already pack 14 dwarven rum upfront for the journey."
Fon said, "the travel will take 14 days to Easttrail (Emkalan)."
"Yeah, it will be autumn by then," I added.
--
The evening went by and everyone is rested, and at dawn we headed out on our journey.
The Forii inquired, "what is your group's name, Gise?"
I answered, "we're The Golden West Spikes (Limulsitalthocit)!"
28th Sandstone, 4: Strike the Earth: First of Many Blood
Autumn has arrived on the calendar.
Akil ranged ahead and comes back with gathered food throughout the journey.
"This be a long stretch of forest, ya," exclaimed Ms Quinoa "Akil."
The continued in excitement, "look ya, be more prickle berry bushes for the picking!"
"There be a spot with some water for the animal, just past that hunk of stone."
"This is as good a spot to strike Easttrail my fellows," said I, Mr Pickaxe, or just Gise if you will.
"Ms Minealum, I mean Nesi, please create the stockpile for the armory. And don your uniform and help secure the area while the others prepare the site."
Nesi murmured, "these turkey leather suits looks decent enough."
"I heard that. I know it isn't much armor, but I brought a steel anvil along and hope to dabble in some metalsmithing if we find some metal ores."
With a glint of her eyes, "I'd very much like to dabble in the ways of the forge myself."
Ms Milkbrew "Isan" started marking the area for a pasture near the pond. A pair of yaks can hopefully mate to produce calfs. A goggle of turkeys were also herded with some help from Mr Stonechef "Fon."
Akil worked on temporary food pile, and immediately moved the remaining rum.
Mr Woodaxe "Zefo" and Mr Slabpack "Arze" discussed some initial layout of the workshop.
But first, Zefo needs to start dismantling the wagon for the much needed logs for his carpenter's workshop and a couple of training axes for clearing trees.
--
The weather has cleared.
Then foul smell eminated from the east, from that hunk of stone.
We have located the Liravus Il Gethust, “Climaxmined the Words of Harshness”, a cave.
I announced, "There's movement, and we're not alone!"
"Nesi, to station. We shall be "The Miner's Pick" squad."
"Our leather uniform and copper pick shall suffice for our safety."
"Arze, please continue with preparing the site while Nesi and I check the cave."
--
The cave entrance on the surface (z149) is on the west side of the hulking stones made of rhyolite.
A narrow tunnel is seen just beyond a grove of willow trees.
A Draltha's menacing grunt can be heard as we approach.
"Orders, kill The Draltha," I whispered.
I charged with the element of surprise, and strike The Draltha in the head with my (copper pick) and the injured part is cloven asunder!
An artery has been opened by the attack.
A tendon in the skull has been torn!
Mr Pickaxe Gise has his first kill.
Further in the cave, a skittering Large Rat moves.
"Order, kill Large Rat."
Nesi strikes the Large Rat in the right front leg with her (copper pick) and the severed part sails off in an arc!
The Large Rat falls over.
Ms Minealum Nesi has her first kill.
"So far, so good, let’s go deeper."
Further down (z141)
Nesi strikes The Draltha in the head with her (copper pick) and the injured part is cloven asunder! An artery has been opened by the attack.
A tendon in the skull has been torn!
Nesi has her 2nd kill.
"Oh, what’s that noise?, she asked.
We moved deeper (z137) slowly and see a Draltha is fighting a two Troglodyte, and the Draltha is vomitting.
We cannot see further beyond (z135).
Order, move at location just above the fighting (z138).
But a Troglodyte peeled from the fight and heading up towards The Miner's Pick squad.
entry batch 22nd Timber, 4: Cave Clearing is Thirsty Work
"Order, kill Troglodyte."
Mr Pickaxe strikes The Troglodyte in the upper body with his (copper pick), tearing muscle, shattering the right front floating ribs and tearing apart the liver!
An artery has been opened by the attack.
A tendon right front floating ribs has been torn!
The Troglodyte gives in to pain.
Mr Pickaxe strikes at the Toglodyte in the head with her (copper pick) and the severed part sails off in an arc!
Mr Pickaxe Gisekkubuk: "Death… This is truly horrifying."
There is a Toglodyte head, and Toglodyte mutilated corpse on the slate Cavern Floor.
Mr Pickaxe has his 2nd kill.
Ms Minealum declares, "I need a drink." and proceeds to the the surface to get drink.
In the mean time, the Draltha killed the second Toglodyte with a kick in the head.
There is 2nd Draltha further below at z133.
So "order, kill the wounded Draltha at z137" when Nesi came back.
Ms Minealum strikes The Draltha in the head with his (copper pick) and the injured part is cloven asunder!
Ms Minealum has her 3rd kill.
"Order, kill The Draltha at z134"
The Draltha has become enraged!
Ms Minealum’s (copper pick) has lodged firmly in the wound of The Draltha!
But Mr Pickaxe gets the killing blow on the skull for his 3rd kill.
"Order, kill The Draltha at z131"
But Mr Pickaxe strikes The Draltha in the lower body, tearing the guts!
The Draltha looks sick!
Mr Pickaxe has his 4th kill.
5th Timber, 4: Eureka!
On the surface, In the wagon has been disambled.
A Carpenter’s workshop is built, and 2 training axes are ordered.
--
There are no hostiles in sight, order move down to z129.
There’s marble down here at z128, and a Troglodyte is seen.
"Order, kill The Troglodyte at z127"
The squad caught up with the Troglodyte at z125 where there are gold veins. Eureka!
Ms Minealum strikes The Troglodyte in the head for her 4th kill.
Ms Minealum Cattenesis: "So easily broken… Begone fear!"
Another Troglodyte is sighted, "order, kill The Troglodyte at z123."
Mr Pickaxe strikes The Troglodyte in the head for his 5th kill.
A Large Rat is sighted, "order, kill Large Rat at z121."
But the Large Rat starts running down deeper… and a Draltha is sighted.at z117.
"Order, move z118," then The Large Rat decides to move up meeting the squad
Ms Minealum strikes Large Rat in the head for her 5th kill.
"Order, kill The Draltha at z117."
Mr Pickaxe strikes The Draltha in the head for his 6th kill.
7th Timber, 4: Deeper, There Are More
(Surface) 1 training axe is completed and chopping trees has begun.
--
No hostiles in sight, and the caves keep doing deeper to z113.
"Order, move z113."
Draltha sighted at z112 and z109 with Large Rat and Troglodyte corpses along the way.
"Order, kill The Draltha at z112."
Ms Minealum strikes The Draltha in the head for her 6th kill.
Gise, "Woah, many hostiles!"
1 Draltha at z109
1 Large Rat at z106
1 Gremlin at z105
1 Draltha at z104
No spare wood log yet, so there’s time to attack z109.
"Order, station at z112 and wait."
Nesi, "Oh mother's milk in a cup, The Draltha is moving up."
"Order, kill The Draltha."
Ms Minealum has her 7th kill.
The Large Rat runs pass up, chase it.
"Sneaky filth," cried Gise.
"Order, kill Large Rat."
Mr Pickaxe has his 7th kill.
8th Timber, 4, Late Autumn: Deeper, More Find
"Order, station at z112 and wait."
The Gremlin is moving up, wait…
"Order, kill The Gremlin."
Mr Pickaxe has his 8th kill by tearing apart The Gremlin’s liver.
There’s a Draltha at z106, and a 2nd Draltha at z105.
And, there’s Native Silver there!
Set 1 tile wood stockpile at z113, just in case we need to retreat.
"Order, kill The Draltha at z106."
Mr Pickaxe has his 9th kill.
You have discovered an expansive cavern deep underground.
2 more Draltha down at z97.
"Order, kill The Draltha at z105."
Ms Minealum has her 8th kill.
Build Constructed Floor at a Down Ramp on z102.
Ms Milkbrew, Isan, gets on the Construction job.
"Order, station a z102."
8 Draltha and 2 Large Rat are nearby at the cavern.
Unfortunately, no water can be seen.
Great. The floor has been constructed.
Nesi, "but the cat went down the cavern."
"I hope Ms Quinoa Akil will not miss the cat," said Isan.
Nesi, "Well, I hope he (cat) scouts the cavern for water."
Gize firmly inquired, "I did not witness any cat, did you two?"
"No" was the unanimous answer, and the three headed back up the surface.
entry batch 312th Timber, 4, Late Autumn: Dig and Plan
I cancelled our station orders to stand down from military duties.
We are to dig some of those exposed Native Silver so we have to reliquish our copper pick as weapons and use them for mining.
Nesi proceeds to clean the blood from the leather armor at the pond...
"I suppose you have a plan for Easttrail now?, asked Gise to Mr Slabpack Arze.
Arze, "Why, I thank ye Mr Pickaxe to query my thoughts on the designs."
Gise, "Please call me Gise. We will not need much formality in our early frontier endevours."
Arse, "Please call me Arze then. I admit that I am just a dabbling architect and have great interest in working the rhyolite stone this hunk offers. Mr Woodaxe has some ideas of his own."
Zefo, "Please call me Zefo since we're addressing each other informally. My thoughts are to make sleeping arrangements sooner, and I would like to dabble in wood working."
As the three gentledwarves ponder upon the hunk of rhyolite cave, Nesi went to start digging the exposed the silver.
That snapped Arze thought, "We can dig out these stones in the surface after and pile a makeshift quarry for the rhyollite and I can set a temporary mason's shop.
Upon hearing about stones, Ms Stonechef added, "Call me Fon by the way. I would like to setup a shop near there too and start making pots. I would like to know where you plan to set the kitchen in all this?"
Gise, "You should place it next to the pile of plants where Akil has been stocking her gathered plants. I see that Ms Milkbrew, I mean Isan is already setting up a Still..."
Upon the mention of Still, everyone's mouth seems to water and seems to signal that it's time for drinks.
"Ahh, fresh strawberry wine," guttered Arze, "why thank you for such refreshing drinks Isan."
Isan inquired Arze about pot making, "I'd want this still moved inside as soon as possible. And have both barrels and pots available for use."
The evening went on with conversations about plans and enthusiasm in more dabbling of preferred skills.
Sketch of the Design Plan by Arze and Zefo
Surface (z149) Rhyolite cave structure at 23 x 17 wide x 5z tall.
Dig out this level for rhyolite quarry and temporary workshops.
Central stairs of 3x3, and saving the middle for future decorations.
With the south half for stones, and the north half for wood.
Order Mr Woodaxe Zefo to make barrels and beds after the initial tools of wheel barrows, buckets, and cages.
Arze will use the rhyloite stones to make blocks, and then tables, chairs, doors and coffers.
A 3 x 3 wide raising rhylite bridge will be the front entrance.
A 2 wide dry moat should suffice initially for the bridge.
Craftdwarf, Mechanics, Wood Furnace, and Lever room will be here also.
The rest of the center area will be about 20 beds.
The walls needs to be secured, removing ramps, smoothing the rest, and using stone blocks.
(z148) The area below looks to be made mostly of peat moss, and it will be a good use as indoor pasture. We will set the temporary Skill and Kitchen here.
(z147) This will be the food production area.
Isan wants on the north side, 6 rooms for turkey nest boxes, a butcher shop, a tanner shop, and a fancy garbage shoot.
The permanent still and kitchen will be on the south side.
The rest of the middle will be fat, food preparation, drinks, prepare meals, and pot stockpiles.
(z146) This rhyolite stone floor will be the grand dinning hall.
It's quite large that we have room to make private storages on the north and south side, and have open beds for claiming.
(z145 and deeper) There are no specific plans except for the atom smasher 5z below the garbage shoot.
(z150 to z153 Above Ground) The rhyoline fortress tower will eventually have been smoothed of fitted with stone blocks.
z153 will have the tracks, and roofed by z154.
Winter arrived.
Start Digging.
Start Building.
The Drinks are low.
We want Lavish Meals.
Start the shops.
entry batch 415th Granite, 5, Early Spring: Filthy Elves are Dumb.
An Elven caravan from Noquemeimimi has arrived.
But we do not have a trade depot yet.
Quicky, Arze start building the trade depot, and Fon starts making stone crafts.
And anyone else want to dabble with mechanism?
So while 3 Craftdwarf workshop cranking out rhyolite crafts, and 1 Mechanic's shop making mechanism, we mange to have 24 Crafts, 9 Mechanisms, and unbarreled -alfalfa roast- [8] available for trade.
Trade Depot is completed finally.
10th Granite, 5, Early Spring
Trader requested at depot.
Mr Axewood's name seems to intimidate these filthy elves. So Zefo marked the 2 male weasels, male leopard, male jaguar, male donkey, 3 clays, and some food for trade. And to everyone's surprise, the elves were jubilant at the deal.
"They be so dumb, but I be not complaining," said Akil as she began eating an exotic tasty pomgrenate and hauling the animals.
"Anyone seen the cat around?," asked Akil to no one in particular.
I yelled to distract from that question, "Alright, time to focus on securing the tower walls!" (z149) And added to Akil, "I see two huge cats now." And she grins happily pasturing our leopard and jaguar.
1st Felsite, 5, Late Spring
Surface walls are secured.
Dig for the dry moat began only to allow the front bridge to start construction.
Start turkey coop at z147.
Set rhyolite lever and link to front bridge.
[spoiler]
1st Hematite, 5, Early Summer:Plan in Action[spoiler]
We do not have office for the manager, broker, record keeper, or doctor yet.

16 beds with private storage, incomplete.
temporary armor and weapon stockpile
13th Hematite, 5, Early Summer: Fancy Garbage
Begin garbage shoot from z147 to z143.
Zefo dreams of creating a great work of art so be volunteers to smooth the walls of the garbage shoot. Gise and Nesi thinks it’s a good idea, so they too began smoothing after they dig the shoot but before channeling out the floor.
Arze also start a raising bridge to atom smash the garbage as needed.
Fon prepares a lever for the atom smasher.
Start securing z150 (z+1 of surface) to roof some of the exposed rooms.
Also start the rest of the 2 wide dry moat.
3rd Malachite, 5, Mid-Summer: Migrants, One Wall Short
Some migrants have arrived.
1. A 7 year old boy named Beachflag (Mishossolon) “Mish” is a polite and eager for the frontier.
2. Mrs Gearmeshes (Olonzithis) “Gear” is an adequate Glazer. Gear can now start making charcoals in the mean time.
3. Ms Castlebridge (Rimtarsazir) “Cas” is a High Master Miller. I have to remember to ask Arze to build a quern. Akil would know if we have millable plants.
4. Ms Fencedpatterns (Ustuthlilar) or “Fen” is a Professional Herbalist and Talented Clothier. Fen can take over Ms Quinoa Akil duties so that Akil can begin some farming with the seeds we have found.
5. Msr Paintedtwinkling (Logemshetbeth) “Twink” is an Accomplished Engraver. Just perfect as he can finish smoothing the garbage shoot.
Oops, the dry moat digs through the indoor pasture below.
Good think there is no water involved in that moat.
It now needs to be secured with constructed rhyolite walls.
Apparently, the design for the surface walls is smaller than the rooms dug below.
1st Limestone, 5, Early Autumn: Thieves!
The indoor pasture walls are fixed.
Removed most of the ramps off the dry moat.
The second floors are done, and starting to secure the walls.
Finkus and Sifrilmus, Kobold Thieves has been seen and they ran away.
Orders, Station The Miner's Pick to assemble at bridge.
They are weaponless since relinquishing the copper picks for actual mining!
Tlabrayngin, Kobold Thieves has been seen, and our stray leopard attacks and chase!
Send the Miner’s Pick squad after it with their bare hands!
But the Leopard mauls the The Kobold Thief before the squad even finished mustering at the bridge.
We now have a large copper dagger.
And nothing was stolen. These new migrants needs to haul the rest of these leather armor inside.
11th Limestone, 5, Early Aumn: News To Me!
I, Mr Pickaxe, Gise shall continue to make these reports.
News to me that Ms Quinoa Akil has been our expedition leaders since Armok knows.
But I'm happy to dig away and not worry about day to day socializing.
A caravan from Ducim Azin has arrived.
We have no record keeper despite Ms Stonechef Fon has the title.
Fon is far too busy to count as she makes our Lavish Meals and Stone Pots.
We shall trade all available pieces from our Mason Arze and Carpenter Zefo, including masterworks and superior qualities.
But Zefi insisted to keep the superior quality beds since we have not started the open beds down the grand dinning hall.
So we shall also trade all the lesser quality beds and Akil agrees with that, and is more interested in the food prep supplies from the caravan.
We shall also trade lavish meals we have stored in pots and barrels.
It looks like Msr Twink is a better negotiator, so he is now the broker.
Sodel Kivishdolush, the liaison from the Mountainhomes.
The world is the same as ever.
--
"I be Ms Quinoa, the current expedition leader of Easttrail," introduced Akil and negotiations began.
Akil requested pig and turkey leather, cloth, silk, any metal bars, more steel anvils, picks, dwarven drinks, any food, copper nuggets, copper cages, leather bags, threads, flasks, waterskins, quivers, backpack, sand, glass, yarn cloth, yarn thread, and clay.
There is a high demand for battle axes for next year.
Our goods value are 7,346.
Trading for
1 black bronze bar
1 bismuth bronze bar
1 raw crystal glass
2 raw clear glass
20 various leathers
10 pig tail cloth
20 various silk cloth
5 steel anvil
6 backpack
4 quivers
stacks of meat, plants, leaves, and cheese
I whispered to Chef Fon to quickly make more lavish meals in hopes to trade for other items in the caravan.
The plan seems to be working. Two barrels of prepared food value at 4,502
Trading for
steel: toy hammer, helm, left and right gauntlets.
bronze: drum, mace, cap, hive, shield, mail shirt, bolts [25], pick
copper: various pieces for melting
male dog, ram, male horse
booze and bags
With these extra supplies, and metals for the melting, we are getting busier.
It is time to dig down the marbles and setup a marble quarry.
Arse will want marble pillars for the tracks.
But also is not thinking of furnishing noble rooms with quality marble pieces.
27th Sandstone, 5, Mid-Autumn
Some migrants have arrived.
Perfect.
entry batch 527th Sandstone, 5, Mid-Autumn: Bad Omen
Some migrants have arrived.
A stack of rotten reindeer cheese roast [20] started spewing miasma throughout the fortress to welcome our new migrants.
It seems like everyone is utilizing the now functioning garbage shoot and taking out the old Draltha and Trogolye corpses outside and into the garbage shoot. But they are hesitant to dump that rotten cheese roast.
Ms Quinoa, Akil, our expedition leader is busy gathering plants and asked me (Gise) to greet out new citizens.
1. Mr Tepestcisty (Akmeshineth) “Temp” is a Talented Glassmaker and Novice Weaponsmith and Novice Hammerdwarf.
2. Mr Questedlabor (Isetherith) “Que” is a Novice Weaver.
3. Mr Rightsarrow (Kirarfeb) “Rig” is a Professional Herbalist and Skilled Brewer.
4. Mr Pagedcolor (Moruldakas) “Page” is an Accomplished Fisherman.
5. Mr Silveryfirst (Raluthar) “Silv” is a Talented Presser.
6. Mr Girderkiss (Thobalis) “Gird” is a High Master Bone Carver and Adequate Leatherworker..
7. Ms Seizepants (Asollogem) “Iz” is an Accomplished Shearer and a Novice Speardwarf.
8. Ms Workpacks (Ducimshigos) “Wor” is a Talented Butcher.
9. Ms Vesselwhispers (Eraliklist) “Vess” is an Adept Fish Cleaner and a Novice Speardwarf.
10. Ms Lancescar (Kubukurrith) “Lan” is a Talented Soap Maker and Proficient Gem Cutter.
11. Ms Hopefulfortress (Zanosgeshud) “Hope” is a Talented Potash Maker and Adept Axedwarf.
Mr Pagedcolor “Page”, Fisherdwarf has gone berzerk!
The poor fellow just does not seem happy to come to this part of the frontier and stayed on the far northeast of the region, alone while the new citizens kept walking to the Easttrail.
6th Timber, 5: Festivities
Our expedition leader Ms Quinoa, Akil has organized a party at the rhyolite table.
Much to my fluster, I think that after this party, the fortress needs to:
1. Finish securing the upper towers.
2. Setup the Forges.
3. Melt the meltables.
4. Make metal weapons and armors.
5. Setup Barracks.
6. And set myself an office worthy for a Commander of Easttrail!
Alas, just as plans go, I need to figure out what these new citizens will do:
1. Mr Temp is a good candidate to start the forges and make silver warhammers.
Also a candidate for squad captain of The Golden Hammers by himself.
2. Ms Iz is a candidate for squad captain of The Spears of Destiny.
3. Ms Vess will be a recruit for The Spears of Destiny.
4. Mr Gird will work on a Leatherworker shop once the turkeys are ready for butchering.
5. Mr Que will work on construction while there are no Weaver needs.
6. Mr Rig will join the Herbalist and help in Brewing.
7. Mr Silv will work on construction while there are no Presser needs.
8. Ms Wor will be Mr Slabpack Arze’s mason’s apprentice while there are no Butcher needs.
9. Ms Lan will work on construction while there are no Soap or Gem Cutter needs.
10. Ms Hope will captain the The Axe Blades squad.
11. And we hope Mr Page calms down and join us.
Now focus on the upper towers…
10th Timber, 5, Late Autumn: Strange Mood
Ms Lancescar (Kubukurrith) “Lan” withdraws from society… (strange mood)
Ms Lan is a Talented Soap Maker and Proficient Gem Cutter.
We built a Jeweler’s Workshop which Ms Lan quickly claimed.
Ms Lan sketches pictures of rough gems.
Lan grabs one rought milk opals and begins a mysterious construction.
Ms Lancescar (Kubukurrith) “Lan” withdraws from society… (strange mood)
Ms Lancescar (Kubukurrith) “Lan,” Soap Maker has created Lasheddodgub Luthozonesh, a milk opal toy hammer!
Lasheddodgub Luthozonesh, “Prophetmobs the Cardinal Confederations,” a milk opal toy hammer. This is a milk opal toy hammer. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. On the item is an image of a kumquat tree in milk opal. Value of 24,000.
I designated a stockpile for this specific artifact in the grand hall, and lock it behind a masterful rhyollite door.
17th Timber, 5, Late Autumn: Busy Autumn
We have more turkey poults.
23rd Timber, 5, Late Autumn.
Ms Minealum “Nesi” has organized a party at the rhyolite table.
I shall attend. My office has not even started.
Infact, no offices have been created; no manager, no record keeper, no broker, no doctor's office.
1st Moonstone, 5, Early Winter.
Mr Page is still on the far northeast corner of the map.
There is progress on the upper towers.
z151 has been floored with rhyolite blocks, and walling the perimeter is next.
z144 has been designated for digging for 7 rooms and a central storage.
This is the last of the rhyolite stone level.
However, I joined Nesi attending the party.
I did thought it may be prudent to choose a few more of Miner’s Apprentices since we're busy with the festivities. So a 2 Smelters and Metalsmith Forges is designed to be built at z145.
To be melted: 3 Copper cages, 2 lead cages, copper trumpet, copper puzzlebox,
copper hive, 2 copper jug, copper piccolo, copper toy boat, copper mace, large copper dagger,
copper buckler, copper cap, bronze hive, bronze drum, bronze mace, bronze cap, bronze shield and steel toy hammer.
After these, start smelting the native silver ores.
There is a (-bronze pick-) and Ms Hope is assigned to help dig. As much as I want to have this pick for my own, I shall pass for a better weapon once the forges are warmed up.
12th Moonstone, 5, Early Winter:Cries From Beneath
Draltha has given birth to twins?
The cat is still alive down in the caverns.
The Draltha populations seems to be thriving.
Dead troll, cave crocodiles and magma crab are among the corpses that litter the caverns below the constructed Coffee Wood Log Floor.
z151 walls are now designated for construction and almost complete.
Time to move up to z152. This level will be roof entrance of the Easttrail because the tracks will be above on z153. Bridge air lock will be created in this level, and ramps heading above will suffice.
Mr Woodaxe Zefo started making 2 copper picks. I suppose he is dabbling in weaponsmithing now since his carpenter's workshop is cluttered with superior quality beds.
Ms Iz and Ms Vess will now help mine, and starting digging the native gold veins down at z125.
1st Opal, 5, Mid-Winter:Death
A stray kitten somehow fell in the central stairs and died. I suspect that boy Mish played too rough and the poor kitten could not handle the gentleness of dwarves.
We have rooms now for shops, build quern, screw press, soaper, dyer, and ashery.

ooc: since it will be the weekend soon, I should focus on the main project of laying down the tracks.22nd Opal, 5, Mid-Winter:Re-Focus Our Effort
The festivities made me realize that too many people are idle when there is much to do.
Arze and Zefo both agree that we have the basics, and everything else is luxury.
Ity is time to focus on the tracks.
Arze still insist to use marble blocks for the track pillars. The rhyolite stones are almost expended and used in this fortress' tower.
I explained that the roof entrance is almost complete, so we can even start laying down the initial tracks up there.
Zefo said that the idlers can begin chopping strips of woods starting towards the east.
I told them that we have gold veins that we can make into gold bars. But that these metals are useless for weapons and armor, so we can use them to for the tracks.
Both Arze and Zefo likes the audacity of that and agree. We all think that Akil will not give any vermin's vomit even if we encrust the tracks with gems. As long as there is a patch of dirt left for prickle berry bush to grow, everthing is good.
So I designate digging room layout in marble levels z128, z127, and z126. With Nesi and 3 miner's apprentice, we will do fast work getting the marble quarry set.

A elven caravan from Noquemeimimi has arrived.
I ordered 2 Forge spiked silver balls just incase I need something to trade.
Akil said, "Hehe, Gise, it be looking you keep yer pair of spiked balls. These filthy elves liked all the non-superior quality mechanisms, doors, tables, chairs, and coffers. And we got loads of food and some domestic animals. I was hoping for more jaguars and leopards, but we got ourselves a dingo."
(report status: posted save game 2015-Sep-20.) (report status: design plan submitted.I have some rather long narrative on Word.
I focused on the project, came up short of marble blocks to pave the surface floor, so I used wood logs instead.
I also got one crash that set me back about 2 hours of play that I did not save sooner--I think it was a tree growing under my elevataed tracks.
Anyway, the rest are posted on a thread
here.
