Genetics and Gelding, possible breeding of uber animals. Eugenics?

I was recently thinking about the new (not really now) features that among others included gelding, right? I came to a conclusion that if enough creatures of the same race could be acquired we could be able to check whether good traits like large size is inheritable. If so, a new age of making HUEG DAWGS AND PEEGS AND KAWS could be upon us. Other possible uses for this kind of research would also give us the knowledge whether attributes like Strength are also inheritable.

Would anyone be willing to conduct the research? I am not only a newb, but also don't have access to a working computer with DF installed, and the one I'm using now isn't capable of running it.

Also, I warn you right now, this thread is NOT supposed to bring in the morality of the matter, real life eugenic programs and what they did or inquires and statements about the size and type of one's genitalia.

Welp, that solves most of my issues, but it still would be nice if someone conducted more dorf research, because that one batch of kids could possibly just be a lucky hit, though improbable. Besides, the animal testing that was conducted in that thread didn't really expand, and I was thinking more about animals than DORFS.

I've never done a formal study, but you can double-check my anecdotal evidence if you like. In my experience, you can reliably get generations of animals that are "huge, muscular and fat" by butchering/gelding weaker specimens as soon as possible.

Well, to be fair, this is rather less abominable than most science done around here. In fact, a good deal of the work of real life agriculture for thousands of years has been to breed animals and plants to human specifications, so, y'know, something something build a house out of glass and be the first to throw stones at those who are without sin something something.
