True, they give a higher return than battle axes. The reason I chose axes was so that any early masterpieces could be immediately used by a fledgling military. Sadly, leggings (like greaves, only lousy; they're the maces of armor!) are the only armor with that property, so early masterpieces should probably just be sold instead.

As a side note, maces suck less now. They're pretty good at pulping relative to warhammers, though the latter is more likely to strike a decisive blow against living targets.

Finished my turn, but I dont get an activation email from dffd when I try to register. Any other ways to upload save?

Just opened up the save folder and I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out here all the staircases lead to and what the levers are linked to.

Thanks to whoever built the hall full of unlinked levers -_-…

Finally set up a ten man squad, with a few months of training and with some luck, they should be able to kill the fire-breathing forgotten beast, which is lurking in the caverns!

Just noticed a 1 tile door in one of the main corridors… My fps is dyyinnnnnnnnnnng! (60fps :/)

Started production of wooden training spears for training room/barracks! Since my newly-made military kinda suck, I thought it was necessary to build one to speed up training.

Just looked on unit list, and noticed that the forgotten beast wasn’t there. Found him on dead/missing list, when I typed “deathcause” on dfhack it said:

I felt kinda sad :(.

Made a second military squad. Feel bad seeing a horde of idlers. Praise the lord for dwarf therapist!!!

The weaponsmith is starting to pump out masterwork steel
battleaxes! (The automelt stockpile was EXTREMELY USEFUL!!!)

How exciting!

Damn it! F***ing deadly dust. Well… Time to test my new military!! **fingers crossed**
(if I find out how to unblock the caverns  :o)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Unfortunately it got killed by the human caravan  :-[. The dust killed all of the caravan though, so with some luck there will be more !!!FUN!!! in a few seasons  :D!

Training room was a success. The first military squad are all armed with masterwork steel battleaxes and have pretty good weapon and armour skill!
The next overseer should be able to kick some a**!!!
(fortunately unfortunately a baby died in it :/)

Weaponsmith is now legendary :( and is pretty good at making armour as well.

New artifact, steel weapon rack worth 100k. Not too shabby…

Tips for next overseer
-Brew new drinks, only 15 left :*
-figure out how to unblock caverns + surface

Not as such. Mostly, it's just that 1-tile hallways require dwarves to stop pathing, carefully move past one another, and then path to their original destination again, iirc, whereas with wider hallways they can just step aside.
