You are too sick to eat the Seed Embryo so you put it in your inventory.

There is a large alien ship, it is sending out boarding shuttles.
This probably explains the alien, and the rumble can be assumed to be a shuttle making contact.

That horn looks like it could be used as a weapon.  Take it down and see how sharp and heavy it is.
