Tick 10.0: Descent to Dissent (Expected Tick duration: 24-48 hours)
Eid attempts to accelerate Ichor regeneration while playing a harmonica.
Eid communes with Lolohe during a rare minute of daydreaming:
Lolohe:
"Yes? What is it?"Arkford has battered a destructive Elf into cleaning up and rebuilding a stretch of bridges following multiple bridge closely spaced collapses.
The Expiration cult group responsible for desecrating a temple dedicated to The Sworn has been brought underground into Efte lands and thrown into dungeons warded against magic and external influences. They continue their screaming and blasphemies, splattering what remains of their paints everywhere.
((There was one when Morthan and Mörkö meddled with them))
The Efte and Skizani seem to have been fighting over some rich hill territory promised by voices from the heavens to whoever could win Morthan's heart. Sadiq encourages the Djinn to take advantage of this profitable opportunity.
Arkford reflects on a previous prayer:
Recently Re-Robbed Robert: "No! What receipts? Fix this now!"
The local law enforcement cracks down (often literally) on unlicensed thieving, and the Guild continues to provide/check receipts. Veles teaches the more evasive/surviving thieves how to avoid detection by law enforcement. The Don sows corruption in the law enforcement, causing great unrest over their power. Some criminals have destroyed some receipt-making materials, but receipts continue to be issued as usual, possibly through Arkford's guidance, but much ink vanishes anyway. Several Star-People paladins descend to help the law-enforcement only to be pelted with rotten produce from various folk.
Veles announces his membership in the Arcane Entente.
(17) Veles has initiated the investigation of the temporal disturbance and gets that something tiny traveled very far into the future. (Veles: -3F)
Several Capo and 6400 Associates have begun an invasion of a Human city. (13) The Don boosts the invasion through various means. (Don Giovanni: -5F)
Itia investigates the cloth the Star-Person talked about and finds a labcoat reading "Murderer". Suddenly, it explodes! Fortunately, Itia is completely unharmed, and she travels to the new temple to gaze at its cyanitude and help get it moving using interesting runes.
Nogis has created 10000 Music Makers. (Nogis -1E)
Veles travels with Kitsoony performers once again to examine conditions in the Carnivale and independent troupes. They seem to have improved greatly, and the Kitsoony in the circus seem to be openly celebrating.
Don has siphoned off his third of the godslaying sword. (5) Veles does likewise, spending a dollop of Flux to manage the extraction. (Veles: -1F) Meow has also siphoned off his share of the sword. The sword has now vanished. (Don Giovanni: +2E, Veles: +3E, Meow: +2E)
Itia has studied the effects of the strange snow on Star-People, encouraging them to stay indoors. It seems to cause hallucinations and seems to be extraordinarily delicious and addictive.
Itia attends the latest showing of
Madness as an elderly Asteroi with a sapphire necklace. Meow does so as well. Zenurion follows along, as does Jixiu. Zenurion attends initially as a mass of black tentacles, red eyes, and maws and takes a seat between two of his followers and various strange items, talking about their inventions and lives. He apparently had to take care of something annoying before coming. Talios attends as an albino High Elf dressed as nobility. Meow attends sitting on someone's head again. THE OVER BRAIN attends as a Bastaegis with a dagger and an Isgon voodoo doll while wearing a cat: A sure sign of having taken excessive alcohol. Tenat attends as a floating crystal cluster about a meter off the ground. During Zenurion's unhappy consumption of a mirror, Itia shields nearby mortals from the crumbs. Nogis attends and sits with the cowering musicians with the Isgon fiddle. Veles attends to the backstage business of running the play, helping to manage the Kitsoony involved. Wángzǐ has attended, hoping to get some idea of what goes on with the gods and how it may affect the City. Arkford attends as an average-looking Efte. Itia has grabbed an Isgon shard and placed it on her necklace even though all the Isgon shards should have disappeared the Tick after creation on account of being made from Flux, thus calling into question just
what actually happened. THE OVER BRAIN begins grappling Zenurion. Veles requests that the two stop fighting. Meow leaps onto someone else's head. Quelor tells THE OVER BRAIN to knock off its childish antics. (13) Zenurion, annoyed, rips apart part of THE OVER BRAIN! (Zenurion: -1F, THE OVER BRAIN: -1I) THE OVER BRAIN attempts to control a cat, but it scampers off into the darkness. Morthan attends the play with Torqal and Telfaam. Calling upon the power of the mostly incarcerated Pantheon, Itia literally kicks THE OVER BRAIN out of the theater! She apologizes to the audience and actors. Tenat has replicated the Field of Muting from the last theater the gods attended. Mörkö has arrived to watch the play.
The actors representing Sadiq, Sylvan, Eid, and Arkford seem to be missing.
The play continues anyway and provides a re-enactment of the events after the conclusion of the first great showing and stopping at the sealing of most of the First Pantheon in the Black Chamber. There is much jeering of the replacement actors selected for Sadiq, Sylvan, Eid, and Arkford: Sadiq is said to be too unfriendly, Sylvan too welcoming of lumberjacks, Eid too hostile toward encroachments, and Arkford too petty about the more boring prayers.
An interesting intermission scene appears involving powerful illusions making people look like other people, and many leave questioning their own existence and identity.
Morthan offers a glass of orphan tears to the actor playing Morthan and interviews him, possibly the first step in the creation of a godly tabloid Wonder. The oprhan tears seem to be too salty for him.
Si has created the Pillar of Mentality in the middle of the south-west circle on the surface.
The Don has created Thorn Browning, a powerful bodyguard with great recoil ability. (Don Giovanni: -3E, -6I)
Sylvan has created 3850 Prophets bonded to Jacaranda trees at the centers of various Sylvanic communities not hostile to Sylvan or the trees. (Sylvan: -6I, -2E)They have introduced an interesting new twisting.
A Lawgiver has killed the lumberjack and, with Sylvan's guidance, turned her into a tree. The Lawgiver leaves and gleefully kills 15 lumberjacks, consuming their souls.
The Studious Tree King finds the gum trees fascinating. (6) The Studious Tree King also decides it would be best that none of them enter his own domain. (Sylvan: -1F)
The Tree Kings refuse to withdraw their petition to the Forgeborn and cite multiple suspicious fires.
The Guild of Temple Builders has begun the construction of the specified grand Forest-Cathedral dedicated to Sylvan and constructed with the help of a master of Tree-Jutsu.
THE OVER BRAIN has given its petitioner a bottomless bottle of beer.
"Whyever would you give a poor lowly mortal a bottle with no beer!? Does it amuse you?"
There is some conflict among the Humans, many of whom seem to push for Lolohe as their god and many of whom cannot tolerate the idea for various reasons. 73 Lolohe-worshipers and 57 Eid-worshipers are killed.
CHAOTIC CORPS vows to prove their strength and has begun infiltrating the other factions. They are fewer in number than either CARRION CONFEDERATION or N'HRKUL NATION but do have the benefit of experience.
Zenurion has populated the wildernesses of Hell with
entire biomes of novel creations.
By now, the Lambdent seem to have become more obedient, and there is no resistance to Zenurion's request to stop corrupting wishes.
There do not appear to be any blood symbols of Zenurion in Sheol, although someone seems to have marked a tunnel leading to Hell with three diagonal lines. Some of the more pleasant afterlives do have crude carvings of their gods' symbols near them, though.
Zenurion has begun investigating the evil aura a few ticks ago but has yet tor turn up anything interesting. The Don suggests it may have been tied to the creation of the godslaying sword. Zenurion's more scientific half seems to beckon for an experiment involving publicly creating some godslaying weapons to see if it happens again.
There do not appear to be any altars with chip shards in Hell.
Lugen has created the Courrpted Realm, a grand plane representing Lugen's entropy and corruption serving also as an afterlife for Lugen's followers. (Lugen: -10E)
Meow has created a plane of Cats and Madness, presumably rarely leaking into the mortal realm. (Locked-1) (Meow: -9E)
THE OVER BRAIN has created seven Cebrains and 700 more Bastaegis. (THE OVER BRAIN: +2E-2E) ((Future retroactive editing and cancellation will not be guaranteed to be free))
((tntey: This is not the place to request world maps, and that would have to be a polled decision))
Sadiq has, following a burst of joy and ecstasy, promoted two celebrated Consortium explorers to angelhood. (Sadiq: -4E) The Expedition sends their wishes:
"We wish for strong, flying ogori!"
"I wish for it to rain gems once every year on this day!"
"I wish for a house made of the delicious snow!"
The Menagerie's penguin habitat is at last filled, and an altar of Eid has been placed in a corner.
THE OVER BRAIN has created 5 Mimics. (THE OVER BRAIN: -0E)
Sadiq determines that the solar flare will probably not affect any of the planets.
Sadiq has begun the investigation of the First Pantheon and the Arcane Entente's races' attempted ban on Plasmurgy and Cosmic magic. Itia demands answers from the leaders thinking of banning either school. It appears to have been motivated by fear of abuse of powerful magic and fear of blasphemy. Zenurion encourages research into Plasmurgy and Cosmic magic in an attempt to take advantage of the lack of competition for it. Many hundreds of aspiring plasmurgists and cosmic mages have died.
Sadiq has seized numerous Headcats from Consortium members and placed them on peacocks and penguins at the El-Jannah Menagerie. The next day, many penguins and peacocks vanish mysteriouslly.
Jixiu publicly confirms membership in The Sworn.
The Don concludes some Family Time:
Misinformed Mobster: "Yes! Yes! An illegal concrete beach riviera concrete party club! We can all illegally wear concrete shoes!"
Meow expawnds on the feline furtue of patience:
Excited Kitsoony: "hon&k Ho&nk&&&!&&&&"
Random Headcat: "<When is the next meal? I had a good meal last night.>"
Meow attempts to absorb what remains of Isgon's energy, but the body has completely disappeared following the gods' body-snatching day.
Some Iaksej have entered the carnival.
Talios has left the Council.
The City of Rule has begun exporting the snow drug to non-Sworn cities and Zhìn has made its use illegal during work hours.
(10) Zhìn probes back against the probing and it lets up. (Zhìn Rèng Jiǎng: -1F)
The dryads have been asked to stop killing lumberjacks with offers to set up merciful forestry operations if necessary.
Wángzǐ has been congratulated on his job so far and has received the Aligned trait. (Zhìn Réng Jiāng: -1E)
(7) Zhìn Réng Jiāng has conducted research on the races as much as possible, magic and the nature of it, and the various properties of the world. The important conclusions are that there are many not-so-diverse races and many diverse races and that the magic most frequently used in the City of Rule has some strange hitherto undiscovered connection to life and death. (Zhìn Réng Jiāng: -1F) Zenurion opposes transport of Lambdent to the surface and Meow opposes abduction of any of Meow's races or, to a lesser extent, non-First Pantheon races. The Don, too, joins in blocking Zhìn Réng Jiāng's meddling. (10) Meow applies some Flux toward countering Zhìn Réng Jiāng's research attempts 1:1. (Meow: -1F) No secret races have been discovered so far except for the Annual Can(nu)al Raft Run, which the law enforcement agents have stopped.
As a response to Zhìn's research, Zenurion blocks Hell from its sight and orders that any Zhìn follower in Hell be condemned. (Zenurion: -1F) Eid makes a fanciful light show in the Black Chamber pretending to attempt to steal the weapons of mass destruction.
Zhìn Réng Jiāng has purchased abjuration from Quelor's remaining free school. Ownership has been tentatively assigned to Zhìn Réng Jiāng on account of payment. (Zhìn Réng Jiāng: -4E, Quelor: +4E)
BINGO! (Quelor: 2/2 free schools used)
The City of Rule has started a mage registration program unlocking access to numerous resources and opportunities.
Zhìn has burned much Ichor to summon temporary shadowy figures to kill Expiration cultists and remove evidence of their existence along with rumors discouraging joining them. Art everywhere has returned to looking good, and frescoes and sculptures are generally more aesthetically pleasing. Tenat goes through what evidence hasn't been destroyed by the shadowy figures and finds little but damaged/destroyed art.
Arkford has created The Dungeon, a plane severed in connection from magic. In it is a cubic space in which the bodies of the Expiration cultists are placed. (Arkford: -18E)
((Andres: It doesn't have 5 more supporters than opposers, though))
THE OVER BRAIN has created seven Hives. (THE OVER BRAIN: -0E)
Jixiu finds answers to some prayers:
Confused Spirallion: "That's a good idea. What should I use to model the water?"
Delighted Chokobo: "The village is gathered!"
Puzzled Chokobo: "They keep laughing!"
Jixiu has shown the Chokobos how to use their hands, and they celebrate the first of (hopefully) many Festivals of Hands.
Itia has created griffins to act as pets and transportation for the Itians.
Sadiq has made livestock feces disease-free unopposed, ushering in the Dung Ages.
Tenat has attempted to create what sounds like bamboo but is opposed by Zenurion. Tenat, with the aid of the rest of The Sworn, forces it anyway. Zenurion attempts to oppose the opposition through the outnumbering method but is himself heavily outnumbered and seems to have no actual pantheons beyond the plain Council.
Zenurion has set a single random tree on fire.
Zhìn Réng Jiāng and Sylvan have begun preparing for a duel of champions which Zenurion opposes, but presumably, the two of them outnumber Zenurion 2:1. THE OVER BRAIN again grapples Zenurion, again incurring Zenurion's displeasure. (13) Zenurion induces a surge of pain in THE OVER BRAIN. (Zenurion: -1F)
Itia has a brief bout of dizziness as Meow sits on his own head while sitting on his own head.
Yearly total lunar eclipses have begun coinciding with winter solstices.
Some militant Humans have attacked Spirallion traders for being too spirally.
A Breathing Gang has slaughtered a governor's family and the family's family following a missed protection payment. They roam the lands wearing bundles of assorted flowers, leaves, and spices to smell.
There is a widespread outbreak of spontaneous conversion to ash!
A Jigon has turned a number of sympathizers against the gods, supporting this stance with examples of the evil gods' continued existence and continued cursing and plaguing of mortals. The mob has recently looted a First Pantheon temple!
Large amounts of the strange snow seem to have fallen on the City of Rule's canal system.
Many things have mastered something just now!
There has been a wave of rescue attempts into Hell and escape attempts around the same time.
Several Capo and thousands of Associates have arrived at a Human town and sacked it, taking slaves of the surviving Humans!
A Human nobleman has seceded from the Human Empire after having been cast out of a grand party.
Rumors surface of Quelor using missionary drones to kill off the Jeskia.
Nogis listens to some standup:
"...and that was when I found Lolohe, Rose, and Morthan at the inn!" [magical cackling and mundane booing]
Sylvan listens to a prayer:
Lonely Tree: "<Hhhhhhaaaaaallllllp! Iiiiii'mmmmmm mmmmmmeeeeeelllllltiiiiiinnnnnngggggg!>"
Zenurion studies some prayers:
Annoyed Lambdent: "Now that we make our pacts nice on the mortals, they just take, take, take and try to get everything free! They even hire lawmancers on us!"
Worried Lambdent: "There has been a wave of rescue and escape attempts, Most Better Ever Zenurion! They briefly collided at the Tribunal room!"
Meow listens to some purrayers:
Circus Clown: "the TeNt FaLlS when the Cat hOnKs HoNkS"
Mayor of a town named Cat: "Can you send more cats to meeow town?"
Itia scopes some prayers:
Confused Star-Person: "Why are so many people turning into Fireless Earth?"
Snowed Star-Person: "S-so much cyanitude in th-the skyanituditude!"
Si studies some prayers:
Skizani archaeologist: "Is it true that the pillars mark the site of the World-Heart?"
Terrified Skizani: "We cannot get any more wood! The woods have come alive!"
Arkford listens to more prayers:
Unscrupulous Seer: "The Seers' Guild predicts doom from the Naedercynn. And disaster. And darkness. And still more doom. And the only way to prevent it is to donate seven hundred seventy-seven talents of pure gold at once."
Efte inventor: "Look at our wonderful Arken water chariot!"
Veles listens to some prayers:
Kitsoony audience inquisitor: "People are getting tired of seeing the god madness plays."
Kitsoony writer: "Some anonymous writers somewhere keep making better horrific versions of our plays!"
Srillian listens to prayers:
Annoyed Spirallion: "Why have the Humans turned on us? We thought they were friends!"
Sciencey Spirallion: "Did you know that the smell of Spirallion ashes drives away mosquitoes? It's true!"
Tenat listens to prayers:
Snowed Crystallum: "Ccould you ssend more of the wwonderful snow?"
TALOS researcher: "The construct is not working again, and we're not sure what you actually did, but could you do it again?"
Zhìn improves the City:
Agitated Trader: "Your City must stop selling snow everywhere! Do you know how much less everyone works now? Burn it or something!"
Interplanetary Commuter: "The Gate area is still packed! I now have to spend a week on Boreas each time!"
The Guild of Civil Service has been founded.
Prominent this tick is the Frowner, symbolizing villainy and violence.
GODS, RACES, AND LIFE AND DEATH: The script is still experimental, but godly incomes are likely to be correct within 5%. Do check races for sanity of values, though. Secret races, plagues, and diseases should now be producing closer to correct income.
