"I have the feeling that destroying would be more likely to go wrong. Some small parts might be able to escape, or it might be repaired. If it's locked in glass, we'll be able to see it every time we pass through, and counterfeiting the soul of a god should be incredibly expensive. It'll also act as some kind of sign that shows you what happens when you try to kill a god without properly preparing."
